★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small prehistoric cave with stalagmites and stalactites and evidence of human habitation, run by a conservation group that also looks after 6 other natural history sites in Sicily. Hard hats are provided for your guided visit. Numbers are strictly limited each day (50 per day), so best to book in advance. The guides made a great effort to speak English. The visit takes around 1 hour and includes a presentation about local plants. Lots of display boards and printed information in Italian. Astonishingly, no charge for anything and no facilities to even make a donation. You need to wear suitable shoes for walking on slippery rocks, and sign a health and safety disclaimer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great visit. Need to get there early. Visit every hour or so. Nice somewhat cold cavern. Shade. Good for kids. Very nice instructor. They give a lot of information.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful worthwhile experience that all of us enjoyed (from the 3 year old to 77). Fantastic little cave that is fun (and free) to explore. Our guide was very nice and equipped us with lighted hard hats. Just wish we could have gone deeper into the cave (but I guess it probably is not safe).
