★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La notevole collezione del museo è allestita in un antico monastero , alcune sale sono state rinnovate di recente. Suggestivi i due chiostri con numerosi sarcofagi e stele funerarie .
 The remarkable collection of the museum is housed in an ancient monastery, some rooms have been recently renovated. The two cloisters with numerous sarcophagi and funerary steles are striking.

Posto molto con tante cose da vedere ma devo dare una stella per via della terribile esperienza con la cassiera maleducata. Se non ero li con il mio fidanzato, le davo una bella lezione di vita.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A marble 'monumental altar bas-relief' showing famous royals. It was made for the Emperor Claudius's triumphal visit to Ravenna after his successful military campaign in Britain (which established a continuous Roman presence there until the fall of the Roman Empire). The 'divine' Emperor Augustus is positively identified with attributes of Jupiter, although it is not certain who the remaining people are. Possibilities mentioned by the museum include: Livia or Antonia Minor, perhaps Germanicus, and the soldier either Agrippa or Mark Antony (which is ironic since they fought against each other). Unfortunately only a portion of this wonderful artwork survives. "Discovered in the 16th century under the floor of Galla Placidia mausoleum or between the mausoleum and the church of San Vitale. 42-43 AD" per the National Museum of Ravenna in Ravenna, Italy. I have been to that museum twice and found it a hidden gem. I would highly recommend to check out @museoravenna for more and also visit that collection when in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This museum has some very interesting and nice items, but the way they are displayed and the chaotic non chronological way without helpful explanations is most confusing! Not worth a visit if you are interested in archeology!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very pretty building with some nice artwork to see. Nothing spectacular included, but very peaceful and a nice place to see when you have time to slow down. Don't come here first if you only have a couple hours in the city but if you're hear multiple days it's definitely worth seeing
