Abbiamo scoperto un piccolo scrigno, contenente la storia del nostro Cadore e dei rapporti con Venezia dal 1400 al secolo scorso. Il museo si sviluppa in tre piani espositivi, con didascalie e immagini molto esaustive. La persona presente al museo è stata gentilissima e, attraverso le sue parole, ci ha guidato alla scoperta della vita delle genti di montagna e dell'importanza del legname per la sopravvivenza di Venezia, per la costruzione di imbarcazioni, case, palafitte... È anche possibile visionare un filmato di circa 15 minuti e una segheria veneziana del 1883, ancora funzionante, fedelmente realizzata su progetto del grande Leonardo Da Vinci! Ci si rende conto che è attraverso la scoperta della storia, nel quotidiano, che si comprendono anche i grandi perché. We were there on a rainy afternoon. We discovered a small treasure chest, containing the history of our Cadore and relations with Venice from the 1400s to the last century. The museum is spread over three exhibition floors, with very comprehensive captions and images. The person present at the museum was very kind and, through his words, guided us to discover the life of mountain people and the importance of timber for the survival of Venice, for the construction of boats, houses, stilts ... It is also possible to view a video of about 15 minutes and a Venetian sawmill from 1883, still functioning, faithfully created on the project of the great Leonardo Da Vinci! We realize that it is through the discovery of history, in everyday life, that even the great why are understood.

Secondo me è un museo che val la pena di visitare; si riscoprono, infatti, antichi mestieri nonché una parte del corso del Piave che è stato distrutto dal disastro del Vajont e dall’alluvione del 1966. È gestito da volontari, e a loro va il mio ringraziamento. Alcune spiegazioni andrebbero rese attuali, ma il lavoro fatto è ottimo. Da non perdere il video girato nel 1922 che racconta la fluitazione da parte degli zattieri. I visited this museum with my family on April 23rd; not being a summer season, I phoned the number indicated on their website and kindly set the time we could arrive. I think it is a museum that is worth a visit; in fact, ancient crafts were rediscovered as well as a part of the course of the Piave that was destroyed by the Vajont disaster and the 1966 flood. It is run by volunteers, and they deserve my thanks. Some explanation should be made today, but the work done is great. Do not miss the video shot in 1922 which tells the rafting from the rafters.

Non esistito solo i musei famosi ma anche i paesi piccoli posso fare la voce grossa! Da visitare per capire la storia di Venezia e la fatica fatta dalla gente per contribuire alla sua costruzione.
