G	Giuseppe Celsi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situato nel Palazzo del Trono, in Piazza del Popolo a Cetraro , è composto da una Sezione Archeologica e una Sezione Storica. La parte Archeologica è allestita in due aree espositive: quella del Museo dei Brettii e quella del Museo del Mare. La prima ospita reperti provenienti dalle aree interne del medio-tirreno cosentino, individua la fase storico-insediativa e delinea la cultura materiale delle popolazioni Brettìe (IV – III sec. a.C.). La seconda espone numerose anfore greco-romane e medioevali rinvenute dai fondali del tirreno cosentino e testimonia la frequentazione dei nostri mari, allora rotte commerciali, di antiche imbarcazioni da trasporto e riferisce dei traffici marittimi compiuti all’epoca. Inoltre, completano l’esposizione alcuni modellini in scala di navi antiche. Nella Sezione Storica, invece, è presente il Museo Cartografico che espone un’ingente collezione di carte geografiche, dal 1400 al periodo post-unitario, depositarie delle trasformazioni subite dal territorio italiano in particolar modo da quello calabrese, di cui è presente la famosa carta sismica realizzata da Padre Eliseo della Concezione in seguito al terremoto del 1783; inoltre rientrano in questa sezione la Biblioteca Civica, costituita da un fondo di oltre 10.000 volumi di ogni genere e la serie di Plastici che riproducono in scala le principali architetture religiose e civili di Cetraro. Located in the Palazzo del Trono, in Piazza del Popolo in Cetraro, it is composed of an Archaeological Section and a Historical Section. The Archaeological part is set up in two exhibition areas: that of the Brettii Museum and that of the Sea Museum. The first contains finds from the inner areas of the Cosenza mid-Tyrrhenian, identifies the historical-settlement phase and outlines the material culture of the Brettìe populations (IV - III century BC). The second exhibits numerous Greek-Roman and medieval amphorae found from the backdrops of the Tyrrhenian Cosentino and testifies to the frequentation of our seas, then trade routes, of ancient transport boats and refers to the maritime traffic made at the time. Furthermore, some scale models of ancient ships complete the exhibition. In the Historical Section, instead, there is the Cartographic Museum which exhibits a huge collection of geographical maps, from the 1400s to the post-unification period, custodians of the transformations undergone by the Italian territory, especially the Calabrian one, of which the famous paper is present seismic survey carried out by Father Eliseo della Concezione following the earthquake of 1783; this section also includes the Civic Library, consisting of a fund of over 10,000 books of every kind and the series of Plastics reproducing the main religious and civil architecture of Cetraro.

Apprezzata la guida di uno studente di archeologia, veramente preparato. Ne consiglio vivamente la visita a chi so trovi sul litorale tirrenico all'altezza di Cetraro (CS). Small but technological museum, suggestive the frame of the beautiful noble palace overlooking the square and the sea. Appreciated the guide of an archeology student, truly prepared. I highly recommend a visit to anyone I know on the Tyrrhenian coast near Cetraro (CS).

Dall'organizzazione delle sale si vede che c'è una grande attenzione sia verso il pubblico sia nel sensibilizzare i cittadini verso il proprio posto. Museo davvero interessante. Volendo si può anche scaricare l'app per avere più approfondimenti sui vari reperti. Luigi poi è stato carinissimo a spiegarci un po' la storia della nascita del museo, di com'era strutturato il museo e a darci varie informazioni storico-culturale sui Bretii. Il museo mello specifico comprende: la sala con le cartine geografiche storiche sopratutto del regno di Napoli, le sale del museo archeologico, le sale dei ritovamenti nel mare prevalentemente anfore; è presente inotre una biblioteca e un piccolo bookshop con oggettistica quasi prevalentemente fatta dai ragazzi del liceo artistico. Veramente un'esperienza unica per una piccola realtà! Museo consigliatissimo! Vicino inoltre è anche presente un'enoteca Nice museum in the center of Cetraro.
