Muratori Cravetta Palace

Excellent location for exhibitions

Palazzo Muratori Cravatta is one of the "pearls" of Savigliano. After a long, costly renovation, it is proposed to the interested parties with temporary exhibitions (mostly of moderate interest), but it is above all the building with its interiors frescoed to deserve a visit.

BEL PALAZZO, GREAT RESTORATION. LESS INTERESTING THE EXHIBITION "HORIZONS" I visited this building that has just been reopened to the public following a restoration on the occasion of the "Orizzonti" exhibition and I found it really interesting. is located in the historic center, next to the museum of essences. the possibility of parking near there, also because it is not a busy area. at least on Sundays ... the entrance is on Via Jerusalem, from the door next to a smaller door on top of which it is recalled that in one of its halls in 1630 a Duke of Savoy died. Very nice two facades visible from the location of the exhibition, which overlook a courtyard with an Italian garden. you can also visit a small empty gallery but there are still the colors on the walls. overlooking the courtyard on one side and the street on the other. the restoration made accessible rooms that are suitable to host exhibitions like the current one, entitled "Horizons". it develops through 7 sections on the first floor. it is accessed by the staircase and descend by a staircase with windows where there is also the elevator. well designed, as are the bathrooms in the basement. on display about 70 works created between 1600 and the present day meant to discuss the local landscape and how this has changed over time. paintings and engravings are in fact placed in dialogue with photos taken by two young artists with the help of google earth, to show the changes that have occurred. the works come from private collections, churches and museums such as the Accorsi Ometto in Turin, Palazzo Traversa in Bra, the Civic Museum of Savigliano, etc. the first 3 sections are dedicated to the 1600s. They are exposed in the third tables of the Theatrum Sabaudiae that depict some locations such as Savigliano, Manta and Cuneo. the fourth section is dedicated to the eighteenth century and features views and landscapes by Cignaroli and Bagetti, while the next two exhibit engravings among others by Gonin - with two castles that are among the most beautiful works - and paintings by Fontanesi and Delleani. the exhibition closes with the early twentieth century paintings by Boetto, with a beautiful cattle market, and by Olivero, of which the divisionist painting "il tramonto" is very beautiful. each section is accompanied by an information panel. the brochure provided at the ticket shows the same didactic apparatus. the visit takes about 40 minutes. the exhibition is open until June 30th on Friday and Saturday from 2.30pm to 6.30pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 6.30pm. costs € 5, free with museums subscription. the visit is recommended more than anything else to admire the palace.

Beautiful, a very welcome dive into the past, congratulations to all the curators of the exhibition for the professionalism and refined taste in being able to insert elements of the present, using new multimedia technologies in such a high-profile historical environment

Palazzo Muratori Cravetta is undoubtedly a must. The internal façade amazes for its elegance.
