★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La stele è opera dello scultore comasco Giovanni Tavani (1934-1982), autore molto prolifico le cui opere sono in Italia ma anche in collezioni estere.
La collocazione originaria era nei giardini pubblici, di fronte al Tempio Voltiano (1966), quella attuale risale al 1983. La stele è memore degli insegnamenti del padre Pietro Tavani, anch'egli scultore e mostra ancora forti legami allo stile Novecento, da cui poi lo scultore prese distanza e giunse ad una propria autonomia formale.
The stele is the work of the Como-born sculptor Giovanni Tavani (1934-1982), a very prolific author whose works are in Italy but also in foreign collections.
The original location was in the public gardens, in front of the Volta Temple (1966), the current one dates back to 1983. The stele is reminiscent of the teachings of his father Pietro Tavani, also a sculptor and still shows strong ties to the twentieth century style, hence the sculptor took distance and reached his own formal autonomy.
