 The previously demolished monument was far better. Gray and soulless obelisk.

Historical monument. But honestly I preferred the Samnite warrior who best represented the soul of this region!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il monumento non rispecchia il valore dei caduti in guerra. Fu realizzato nel 1952 in sostituzione di un precedente monumento bronzeo raffigurante un fiero guerriero sannita, poi rimosso per incompatibilità ideologiche dopo la seconda guerra mondiale.
Il secondo monumento non ha la pregevole fattura del primo.
The monument does not reflect the value of those killed in the war. It was built in 1952 to replace an earlier bronze monument depicting a proud Samnite warrior, later removed for ideological incompatibilities after the Second World War.
The second monument does not have the fine workmanship of the first.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È un simbolo della città che supera il suo significato: luogo d'incontro, di riferimento stradale, l'ultima visione che rimane impressa uscendo dalla città. Ottimale sarebbe se i concittadini non parcheggiassero i loro veicoli proprio davanti al monumento!
It is a symbol of the city that goes beyond its meaning: a meeting place, a road reference, the last vision that remains impressed upon leaving the city. It would be optimal if fellow citizens did not park their vehicles right in front of the monument!
