Mount Finocchito is located a few kilometers from Noto in the Tellaro Valley, it is a hill with a flat peak. It is characterized by a cave necropolis from 600 BC. At the top are the remains of an ancient Sicilian village of which only the foundations of powerful fortifications remain. The Monte Finocchito area is the most important archaeological site of the Iron Age in southeast Iblea.
