I went there 1 night for catechism eating from 5 stars all done by hand. The morning jam made by them. Beautiful church I recommend to everyone.

Beautiful monastery. I recommend everyone to visit it. The Holy Masses that celebrate Sundays and public holidays are also beautiful. The church is documented since the first half of the 11th century, it was richly decorated in the fifteenth century, as shown by some traces of frescoes, but its current elegant structure, both structural and decorative, dates back to the modernization carried out in the eighteenth century. A refined restoration linked to the settlement of Benedictine monks, which also led to the recovery of the adjacent convent after decades of neglect, has further enriched the building by allowing the triptych depicting the "return to the church on the right side of the altar Virgin and Child with Saints "by Cenni di Francesco, a late-century work of great colouristic and compositional elegance, still typical of late Gothic culture.

There are places where on a beautiful spring day, leaving Florence and abandoning yourself to the desire of the moment - usually to put the ... crazy crowd behind you - you can find yourself in the streets, olive groves, vineyards and woods in front of a church, a cat in the middle of the road that hasn't the farthest idea of ​​giving you the way, the magical silence that brought you there broken only by the crackling engine of a tractor in a small grassy meadow. Pieve which then is not such because it is instead a Benedictine convent with guest quarters, only two human presences, dedicated to San Cristoforo, the open church, neat and just repainted, the interior with some remains of good frescoes that recall times gone by , three candles lit by devotees (non-electric cheers), a comforting silence around, meadows, woods, wide horizons still untouched, only one visiting car, mine; and the tractor finally paused because its driver, responding to my gesture, turned it off taking off his ear muffs ... you know, the traveler of the weekend you cannot ignore that gentleman dressed up for the occasion, hat, glasses and neck cover to the desert, a traveler who, in short, wanted to know more about that beautiful place, must have thought.
