★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il monastero di S. Salvatore della Placa venne fondato nel 1092 dal Gran Conte Ruggero, dopo l'incontro con l'anacoreta Cremete, che viveva da eremita in una grotta delle vicinanze. Il monastero di rito greco ebbe proprio Cremete come primo abate e ricevette sostanziose donazioni di terre da parte del Conte. Già nel 1131 il monastero di S. Salvatore di Placa passò sotto l'Archimandritato del S. Salvatore di Messina, mentre fra '300 e '400 iniziò il periodo delle concessioni in commenda. Nel '700 fu definitivamente abbandonato.
The monastery of S. Salvatore della Placa was founded in 1092 by Gran Conte Ruggero, after meeting the anchorite Cremete, who lived as a hermit in a nearby cave. The Greek rite monastery had Cremete as its first abbot and received substantial donations of land from the Count. Already in 1131 the monastery of S. Salvatore di Placa passed under the Archimandrite of S. Salvatore di Messina, while between the '300 and' 400 the period of concessions in commenda began. In the 18th century it was definitively abandoned.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non difficile da raggiungere ma non c'è un vero e proprio sentiero. Ancora visibili il palmento e due vasche per la raccolta dell'acqua. Il panorama che si gode è molto bello
Not difficult to achieve but there is no real path. Still visible the palmento and two tanks for water collection. The view that is enjoyed is very beautiful
