We had 4 wonderful days at Moarlhof. You immediately feel at home, all the products that are served are sourced either from your own cultivation, from your own stable or regionally from the surrounding area. Breakfast and dinner are highly recommended. The apartments are new, spacious and very clean. There is parking in the garage.

The apartment is brand new and there is practically everything: private bathroom, double bedroom, terrace, living room with TV and kitchenette. The structure even has a connected underground garage and there are charging stations for electric cars. Nearby there is also a playroom for children. Breakfast is not included. For the rest it's really a fantastic place and you can relax. The road to get there is not the max but I think it is very dangerous in winter. Nearby there is a regular bus but to reach it you have to walk a bit. No type of card is accepted.

Wow, was für ein megaschöner Bauernhof incl. Ferienwohnungen. Sehr sehr Empfehlenswert...
Wow, what a mega beautiful farm including apartments. It has a very familiar flair and you can feel everywhere with what love and passion this oasis was built and operated. This is complemented by a fantastic environment, both in summer and winter. Very highly recommended ...

Insanely great accommodation, the rooms are completely made of wood and newly renovated. The hosts are incredibly nice and happy to tell you more about the house and the surrounding area. Will definitely come back sometime.

We expected a fantastic setting, uncomplicated and courteous handling with the guests and an excellent breakfast and were not disappointed in any way. We can recommend the property without hesitation. Here attention is still paid to detail and hospitality.

We spent a great week at Moarlhof, in the most beautiful landscape. I can't imagine a more welcoming host or a house built with more love for detail. We will definitely return!

The property is beautiful and has an incredible view over the Valle Isarco, which is also seen from the apartments on the front. The entire property was recently built to the highest quality standards, entirely in wood. The rooms/apartments (we asked to see all the others) are very clean, recently made, and beautiful. This property looks like a work of love by the owners with an incredible attention to the details. Everywhere you will find cute little (or large) pieces of woodworks, paintings, little details. Everything in the living areas is top notch, news, and beautifully done with the best materials. The location is a Maso (or in German Bauernhof) a typical farm of Alto Adige/ Sud Tyrol. The downtown of Castelrotto/Kastelruth is at about 5 minutes scenic drive. So is the gondola that can take you on the Alpe di Siusi, from which you will have a majestic view of some of the most famous formations of the Dolomites (Sella, Sciliar, Sasso Piatto, Sasso Lungo, Marmolada) and where you can hike for dozens of kilometers in an enchanting alpeggio scenery, among pasturing cows. The property contains acres of fields and woods which can be hiked. One hike across the property leads down to a famous 16th century castles where the poet Oswald von Wolkenstein lived. Visits are inexpensive and certainly worthy, as it has recently been restored. Along the (rather steep) path in the forest we found wild berries of the most intense flavor. A short drive will lead to another restored 16th century castle, near Siusi. One can drive to passo sella via Ortisei and Selva di Val Gardena in probably one hour. Another thing we appreciated of both this property and this area is that it is sort of an hidden gem, very beautiful but also a few miles out of the beaten path (Val Isarco and Val Gardena) as to appear genuine and cozy. It is a German speaking enclave, and I mean really German--lots of ethnically German locals there struggle with Italian. That has never been a problem for us (though we do not speak German) and indeed added to the charm. The lady of the house and her daughters are most polite and adorable. She prepares exceptional breakfasts, with yogurt, homemade bread, fruits, berries, speck, eggs prepared with speck, cheese. In particular she offers, along with a wide choice of marmalades of different kinds, also traditional yet rare gelatins, such as the exquisite fir honey (which is not honey, but rather a gelatin made from fir needles). The breakfast is a veritable feast. At first you might find it perhaps too abundant, but you would be mistaken. Go on and eat it all, you will need it. There is a reason why every typical dish in the area is hyper caloric yet people there are all fit, and you will discover it while hiking miles over miles around those mountains. They can be steep indeed. Better to eat it and to burn it, there are many activities to do in the area and natural and cultural beauties to enjoy.
