β β β β β We went to Angera for New Year's Eve. We booked an all inclusive dinner and entertainment party with a set menu for Β£80 each at the Miralago. It is situated directly on the shores of Lake Maggiore so you get a fantastic view. The food was average and strictly fish based, but the ambience was great. Everybody was making an effort to include us as they knew we didn't speak Italian. There was a kareoke with lots of English songs which was fun. At midnight they served an Italian liqueur to toast the new year and gave us a Chinese lantern to send soaring above the lake. They then served a plate of lentils with a kind of sausage. Apparently it is traditional to start the year with this dish as lentils symbolise money (and you also have to wear red underpants to get lucky)
Each to their own...
The only down side was that the toilets were situated in the bar attached to the restaurant, on the other side of the road (not great when wearing an evening dress and it is minus temperatures outside). You had to climb two levels of see through rickety metal stairs (not great in heals) to find only one unisex toilet with a queue of 10 people.

β β β β β A small to medium size restaurant near the lake beach. The atmosphere is nice and people are friendly. Good pizza selection and other typical local food. The food was very good.

β β β β β A bit expensive for what you receive, but good flavours and fresh ingredients. Staff are very efficient - almost too much so, as the food arrived too quickly for us to enjoy the atmosphere of the place! Great views of the lake.
