Peccato solo che a causa del COVID le tante belle attività per bambini, ragazzi e adulti si sono ridotte, ma speriamo so possa tornare nuovamente ad apprezzare l'eccezionale proposta culturale.
Mediateca San Lazzaro è una vera e propria piazza del sapere.
Luogo bello, personale competente e disponibile.

It's just a pity that because of COVID the many beautiful activities for children, teenagers and adults have been reduced, but we hope I know that they can come back to appreciate the exceptional cultural offer again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Edificio moderno e personale molto disponibile. Alcune problematiche: pochi libri di "scienze dure" e medicina (mentre per filosofia e lettere molto fornita); buona la quantita di PC fissi della biblioteca a disposizione per gli utenti, peccato che siano spesso occupati dai soliti noti che li usano per giocare a poker online; assenza di distributori automatici per l'acqua e altro ( sono stati svaligiati e spaccati tre o quattro volte e hanno deciso di toglierli del tutto). Hanno esteso l'orario di lunedi e martedi.
Modern building and very helpful staff. Some problems: a few books on "hard sciences" and medicine (while for philosophy and literature very well supplied); good amount of fixed PCs from the library available to users, too bad they are often occupied by the usual suspects who use them to play online poker; no vending machines for water and more (they were burgled and smashed three or four times and decided to take them out entirely). They extended the hours of Monday and Tuesday.

Il posto è grande, ben fornito e facilmente raggiungibile, nulla da dire riguardo a ciò.
Cosa c'è allora che non va?
Il GRAVISSIMO problema è da attribuire alla gestione che permette a decine e decine di persone di prendere posto nel mattino, lasciarlo all'ora di pranzo per andare a mangiare tenendolo occupato con un libro o un quaderno e di tornare poi, una o due ore dopo, a riprendersi il posto occupato la mattina.
Io ed un mio compagno di università ci siamo dunque ritrovati alle 14 in questa biblioteca mezza vuota dove però non potevamo sederci in quando decine di posti erano "occupati" da libri o quaderni di persone che alla spicciolata (ed in tutta calma) arrivavano a reclamare il posto, poggiando giacche e zaini appena tolti e ricominciando a studiare.

What's wrong then?
The VERY SERIOUS problem is to be attributed to the management that allows dozens and dozens of people to take a seat in the morning, leave it at lunchtime to eat and keep it busy with a book or notebook and then return one or two hours later. , to take back the place occupied in the morning.
I and a university friend of mine therefore met at 2 pm in this half-empty library where, however, we could not sit in when dozens of places were "occupied" by books or notebooks of people who came to reclaim (and calmly) to claim the place, placing jackets and backpacks just taken off and starting to study again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Orari davvero da studenti, al pari della maggior parte delle biblioteche universitarie di Bologna centro, se non fosse per il mattino del lunedì e per le restrizioni estive, che comunque sono comprensibili. Anche la disponibilità di libri è sorprendente, considerato che siamo in provincia: di certo per il mio ambito (filosofia) è fornitissima. La struttura è bella e promuove tante iniziative.
Avevo messo 4 stelle perché c'era una sola presa di corrente, ma da qualche tempo hanno messo prese di corrente sotto molti tavoli, e faccio i miei complimenti per l'attenzione che hanno dimostrato ai feedback degli utenti!
Real student hours, like most of the university libraries in central Bologna, were it not for Monday morning and summer restrictions, which are however understandable. The availability of books is also surprising, considering that we are in the province: certainly for my field (philosophy) it is well stocked. The structure is beautiful and promotes many initiatives.
I had put 4 stars because there was only one socket, but for some time they have put power sockets under many tables, and I congratulate them for the attention they have shown to user feedback!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima biblioteca con parcheggio sempre libero e torri di ricarica per auto elettriche, due piani, prese di corrente in tutti i tavoli e terrazzino per mangiare, fumare o chiaccherate. C'è anche un bar molto buono anche se un po' caro al piano terra con tavoli all'aperto. Non metto 5 stelle solo per la costante presenza di maleducati che arrivano e pretendono di "prenotare" metà dei posti seduti lasciando fogli singoli di appunti su ogni tavolo, se gli addetti fanno qualcosa a riguardo, anche solo mettere un cartello torno a cambiare la mia recensione.
Beautiful library with always free parking and charging towers for electric cars, two floors, power outlets at all tables and terrace for eating, smoking or chatting. There is also a very good although somewhat pricey bar on the ground floor with outdoor tables. I don't put 5 stars just for the constant presence of rude people who arrive and pretend to "book" half of the seats seated leaving individual sheets of notes on each table, if the staff do something about it, even just putting a sign back to change mine review.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Credo che lo spettacolo NOTE D'INTERNO di domenica 20 marzo 2022 sia uno dei più belli che ho visto ultimamente. La lettura delle poesie con l'accompagnamento della musica è stato emozionante. Anche le canzoni di Dalla. De Gregori. De André, Vecchioni, Carboni sono diventate poesia.
Bravissimi Tullio Saldanesi, Marco Baroni e Beatrice D'Andrea a cui auguro un successo sempre più grande. Grazie anche alla Mediateca di S. Lazzaro per la scelta fatta.
I think the NOTE D'INTERNO show on Sunday 20 March 2022 is one of the most beautiful I've seen lately. Reading the poems with the accompaniment of music was thrilling. Dalla's songs too. De Gregori. De André, Vecchioni, Carboni have become poetry.
Very good Tullio Saldanesi, Marco Baroni and Beatrice D'Andrea to whom I wish ever greater success. Thanks also to the Mediateca di S. Lazzaro for the choice made.

Peccato che se si vuole andare a studiare durante i periodi di sessioni universitarie bisogna essere lì davanti almeno mezz'ora prima dell'apertura perché altrimenti non si trova più posto a sedere. Oggi essendo completamente pieno il piano di sopra dedicato agli studenti universitari, mi sono dovuta mettere a piano terra insieme ad altri ragazzi universitari che non avevano trovato posto come me. Dopo un'ora arriva una responsabile che dice che dobbiamo andare via perché l'area è dedicata a ragazzi da 5 a 18 anni e non possiamo stare lì perché potrebbero arrivare e non trovare posto. Non credo che di martedì mattina ci siano molti bambini da 5 a 18 anni che non vadano a scuola per andare in mediateca, sarebbe stato più comprensibile se ci fosse stato davvero qualche bambino che avesse bisogno di un posto... Quindi 2 stelle perché l'organizzazione è pessima, se si sa che è sempre cosi affollata sarebbe opportuno fare una app per le prenotazioni o qualcosa del genere perché altrimenti si va per poi essere cacciati.

After an hour comes a manager who says we have to go away because the area is dedicated to children from 5 to 18 years, and we can not stay there because they could get there and no place. I do not think Tuesday morning there are many children from 5 to 18 who go to school not to go to the media center, it would be more understandable if there really was some kid who needed a place ... So why the 2 stars 'organization is bad, if you know that it is always so crowded it would be appropriate to make an app for reservations or something because otherwise you go only to be driven out.
