I was very disappointed to see what was once a department store with a large assortment and very competitive prices, turn into a real meager and very expensive discount! The prices have increased and by a lot .. the cuteness of the employees, especially the cashiers, remains undisputed!

Not for foreign METRO customers! As METRO Cash and Carry was closed due to a strike (METRO is considering to shut down the place in Bolzano) and METRO Maxi belongs to the METRO group and was open I went there. I asked upon entering in English if the carts have to be taken from the parking lot or are available inside. A cashier struggled with her English to answer my question. After an hour of getting groceries for our vacation and some goods to take home (they have decent wines, liquor and Italian foods at competitive prices) the same cashier took my METRO Card walked away, came back with a manager who told me, that buying at this place is not possible for international customers. He apologized for the inconvenience and that I wasn't the first international METRO customer that day. This place might be great for groceries but why the hell didn't they inform me beforehand, as it was quite obvious that I was an international customer, especially regarding the fact that I wasn't the first one on that day. No sign, no remark whatsoever. I was so consternated I did not even ask for a pragmatic solution. If METRO was in any way customer oriented they would have opened the store at least for a strike day to all their customers.

It’s a very big supermarket with all the things you can think of but it’s not bulk equipment like a normal metro. It’s got bakery it’s got a Butchery it’s got a fishmonger are so many things you can get turkey and chicken and lamb and beef and pork and bread and everything
