Last October (2017) I bought a very expensive winter coat (Max Mara Atelier) made of Alpaca wool in this very boutique. I told the shop assistant that I really liked the coat. However, I would only buy it, if there were a way to do it up. (There was no way to do this coat up - no zip, button or a belt!) The shop assistant talked to her superior and they agreed that their tailor would find a good solution for this problem. So the tailor fitted a small hook and a loop to the coat - and I bought the coat. I didn't wear it often, and I never used the hook. Once it got cold and I wanted to do the coat up with this new construction the tailor had fitted… the loop tore! I wrote to the Max Mara Company asking them to provide me with a solution and suggested a belt (fitting the coat in style and material), because the tailor's construction obviously had been lacking. However they refused me, stating that as the original coat didn't have a belt… they could not change "image & style" of the coat. I feel I have been cheated by this very shop. In order to sell me the coat, they pretended they could provide me with a good solution. Once I had bought the coat, they stopped caring. Neither did they provide me with another solution (the belt being out of question) nor did they offer to compensate me in any other way. So here I am with a expensive coat that I can't do up! Max Mara's customer service is lousy. They obviously don't care about their customers.

Extremely rude sales people, they literally didn’t want to sell me an expensive pair of boots that I was ready to buy and were very disrespectful about it. When we walked upstairs we were asked β€˜do you need something’? Which is already not a decent way to welcome customers. We were upstairs where the boots were on display and we requested to try in them in the correct size (38), after which they mentioned that we had to go downstairs to do so, as β€˜this was not the area for shoes’ (?), we said we’d rather stay upstairs as it was quiet and comfortable, not an unusual request in these COVID times. Then the assistant came with a 37.5 and when we again asked if they had the correct size she said β€˜maybe not’, we need to go downstairs?? In this tough time when great professionals are loosing their jobs, makes me really sad to see people with no morals like this being still employed.
