I consider the experience lived this morning offensive and disrespectful towards patients. I suffered a fracture to the tibial plateau months ago. After several months I have not yet recovered the knee joint. I booked a visit to Bari on the occasion of the visit of Professor Marcacci. The secretary set me an appointment for this morning at 12.20, calling me to a posture center in Bari. As mentioned in the introduction I have knee joint problems, however today is a rainy day and the weather conditions negatively affect my operated knee. With a lot of sacrifice, since there is no disabled ramp, I arrive at the entrance door of the posture center after having climbed numerous steps. I intercom a few minutes early and the secretary replies that the wait is standing in the hall. I reply that I have no possibility of staying up for a long time together with other patients (4 + 1 other who has moved away temporarily) .. The same then suggests me to wait in the car. I ask her the average waiting time for the visit and she replies 20 min. With endurance of the effort I remain in the hallway standing with the other patients for over 35-40 min. At the same time no one visited by the posture center, I deduce that the wait for the visit is much higher than 20 'at the same time becoming 40' with 5 patients before me. Offended and humiliated, I communicate my dissent over the intercom to the secretary since I consider the story to be 3rd world. In practice, the wait takes place illegally in an entrance hall adopted as a waiting room, standing for a visit costing € 250 while the condominiums of the building passing by grumble! After about 1 hour of abusive waiting, I leave the entrance hall and leave, considering the disorganization, the reception modalities and the situation created for the patients inadequate compared to the professional reputation of the doctor.
