★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've always admired Teatro from the outside. This week I finally took a guided tour inside. I did not expect it will be such an extrordinary experience. The interiors are breathtaking. I strongly recommend to visit it. ?❤️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While in Palermo I took a tour ride to Teatro Massimo, the biggest opera house in Italy and third biggest in Europe. The Opera house is also famous for The final scenes of Francis Ford Coppola's film The Godfather Part III where the uncle of Francis Ford Coppola, the composer and conductor Anton Coppola, is shown conducting the opera. The climax shooting scene of Mary also takes place on the steps of Teatro at Piazza Verdi. Highly recommended tour location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think best appreciated by a live performance which I missed by a day. However it is beautiful and worth seeing. The tour was disappointing however. The tour guide was disinterested and as she had little English questions were not sought or encouraged.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful. A local elderly man was sitting looking at the building. Said he had been coming there since he was a young boy. Scene of the shooting on the steps at the end of Godfather III. 30 minute tours available. Associated restaurant shut but you can eat and view front from cafes.
