★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is lovely place. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. The buildings are historic beautiful and the olive trees are awe inspiring. Even in the winter, many food items come from the gardens and grounds. The wines were terrific. The food, organic and local is good but as aficionados of the local food movement, we found it a bit backward looking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located six kilometers outside Ostuni, Masseria Il Frantoio is off the beaten track and well worth the journey. My husband and I spent six delightful nights there in early June. The Masseria is relatively small - not more than 20 rooms - set amidst acres of olive trees and beautiful gardens. The setting was beautiful and tranquil. What really made this place stand out was the outstanding food and the staff. Every meal was a delicious exploration of local cuisine. Guests can choose between 4, 6, or 8 course dinners that include local wine pairings. The kitchen is staffed by a cadre of local women who turn out one exquisite dish after another. The closely guarded recipes are part of the magic of the place. The staff is also excellent. They clearly love the place and want their guests to love it too. They gave us great advice on activities - including arranging a cooking class for us in Locorotondo - and cheerfully fulfilled every request. This is truly a special place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Complete gem. Beautiful old romantic Masseria that takes you back in time. Estate is beautifully maintained, rooms filled with antiques and special touches everywhere. The grounds are luxurious with beautiful spaces and a magical pool... you will not want to leave... ever. The staff tops the whole experience- consistently friendly, helpful and going out of their way to make your stay special. Well done to all the ladies of Il Frantoio!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had dinner here. What a wonderful experience. We started with a tour around the masseria with wonderful architecture and gardens. Afterwards we had an extensive tasting menu. Can imagine it must be a fantastic place to spend a few days and nights.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great stay at Masseria il Frantoio - it was a wonderful base to explore the area. We rented bikes to go out on excursions each day and then would come back to relax by the pool area. And then take our rental car to nearby Ostuni for dinner. The staff at Il Frantoio is very gracious and made our stay quite nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful location nestled among olives, grapes and an orchard. We loved our time there in a rustic but very comfortable cabin, waking up to just birds. The air is clean and pure and we have a light September breeze that kept us cool all day. The dinner was magnificent and breakfast leasiurwly and attentive. Outstanding value on the meals
