You may have the mistaken belief that a "shell museum" in a seaside location is banal, predictable at times boring.
Nothing more wrong !!
The malacological museum is really interesting, with its countless pieces from the sea and history.
On the ground floor an infinite variety of shells (may the experts forgive my childish generalization !!) different not only in geographical and temporal origin but in shape, color, size all scrupulously ordered and cataloged with their respective descriptive plates.
On the first floor a huge series of objects, masks, paintings and various tools (from binoculars to sewing machines) adorned with mother of pearl.
Suitable for children of all ages (from maybe four or five years old) the museum and the various collections inside can be visited in a couple of hours or, in a hurry with small children, in half an hour. There is a fairly clean bathroom at the entrance to the museum and a store at the exit with various items at more than affordable prices.
Large unattended outdoor parking.
What can I say, if you are nearby it can be a good alternative for a light and interesting cultural moment.

β β β β β Ordinary looking building hides inside maybe thousands of seashells from around the world. Also you can buy rare seashells in souvenir shop.

β β β β β Amazing number of shells and other water based fossils.
The curators that look after the museum and the shop are really helpful.
The price for us with 2 adults and 2 children under 16 was 30 euros (10 euros per adult and 5 per child).
The shop had really good items for gifts.
Recommend a visit.
