★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All'estremità del borgo si erge questa chiesa che Papa Sisto V volle edificare dove precedentemente sorgeva la sua casa natia. L'opera fu completata nel 1595, dopo la sua morte. E' la chiesa più grande di Grottammare Alta. La sua severa facciata si contrappone al piccolo campanile a vela su due livelli posto sulla sinistra. Il portale d'ingresso in travertino è sormontato da un timpano curvilineo e dallo stemma di Sisto V. Purtroppo in occasione della mia visita la chiesa era chiusa.
At the end of the village stands this church that Pope Sixtus V wanted to build where his native house previously stood. The work was completed in 1595, after his death. It is the largest church in Grottammare Alta. Its severe façade contrasts with the small bell gable on two levels on the left. The travertine entrance portal is surmounted by a curvilinear tympanum and the coat of arms of Sixtus V. Unfortunately, the church was closed during my visit.
