★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccola pieve nella bassa bresciana. Carina da visitare durante una bella giornata di sole, che permetta di ammirare anche la campagna attorno. Non abbiamo potuto visitarla internamente e torneremo appena possibile.
Small parish church in the lower Brescia area. Nice to visit during a beautiful sunny day, which also allows you to admire the countryside around. We were unable to visit it internally and will return as soon as possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa campestre sorge isolata in località Pontegatello, superato l'antico e decadente castello. La sua sagoma risalta in modo suggestivo nel paesaggio di pianura, con il suo colore rosso mattone acceso.
L'ingresso è preceduto da un protiro e si può vedere l'interno attraverso due finestre con grata, ai lati del portale. Sul fianco destro, alla base del campaniletto, si trova il pozzo lungo.
Non si conosce la data di erezione dell'edificio ma compare negli estratti del catasto napoleonico del 1809.
La sua spiccata funzione di chiesa rurale è viva ancora oggi, tant'è che il 7 novembre 2020 si è svolta la Giornata del Ringraziamento con la benedizione degli strumenti del lavoro agricolo nel parco antistante la chiesa.
The country church stands isolated in Pontegatello, after the ancient and decadent castle. Its silhouette stands out in an evocative way in the plain landscape, with its bright brick red color.
The entrance is preceded by a porch and you can see the interior through two grated windows on the sides of the portal. On the right side, at the base of the bell tower, there is the long well.
The date of construction of the building is not known but it appears in the extracts of the Napoleonic cadastre of 1809.
Its strong function as a rural church is still alive today, so much so that on November 7, 2020, Thanksgiving Day was held with the blessing of agricultural work tools in the park in front of the church.
