Rammarica un po pensare che tutti i tanti e preziosi tesori siano stati portati a Roma, ad Ancona e solo una minima parte ad Ascoli. Ma la bellezza del luogo racconta di una storia colma di Incanto e di Meraviglia ? An encounter with history really full of emotion. Purtroppo è lasciato tutto all'abbandono, peccato perché se fosse valorizzato avrebbe un potenziale enorme, io l'ho trovato comunque estremamente affascinante. Basterebbe curare i cartelli descrittivi, tenere pulita l'area da erba, arbusti. Secondo me vale la pena in ogni caso una sosta, il parcheggio è vicino e anche piuttosto spazioso. Il venerdì, sabato e domenica trovate anche il ristorante aperto a Castel Trosino. The place has a magical, silent atmosphere, surrounded by greenery. Il sentiero è corto e facile e si arriva a una radura dove si incontrano delle figure in cartapesta che simulano la sepoltura di una persona. Vicino c'è anche una teca di vetro contenente uno scheletro di un soldato Longobardo. Ci sono anche vari cartelli esplicativi, qui hanno ritrovato oltre agli scheletri un vero e proprio tesoro, custodito in parte ad Ascoli,Roma e New York. Peccato che il posto sia stato un po' trascurato. Carino da visitare anche Castel Trosino, dove c'è un balconcino in cui si affacciava una principessa longobarda . La location vale il 90% della bellezza di questo posto poiché una volta arrivati ci si rende conto della trascuratezza di un luogo archeologico di grande importanza. I pannelli sono dispersi in una pineta senza un sentiero battuto così come sono nascoste e non curate le varie pietre che segnano la posizione delle tombe. La ricostruzione del funerale longobardo è sicuramente affascinante, ma i resti della chiesa nascosti e senza la minima segnalazione lo sono decisamente di più. Un peccato che in un luogo meraviglioso come Castel Trosino e i suoi boschi limitrofi di sia andato a trascurare un sito che poteva aumentare il fascino storico e folkloristico della zona. Tuttavia non posso trattenermi dal consigliare una visita anche solo per poter apprezzare l'escursione che porta alla necropoli e le sue splendide vedute. Well-kept and clearly visible path. Alla fine del 1800 vi fu rinvenuta una tra le principali necropoli longobarde d'Italia, con un magnifico tesoro che oggi è esposto nei principali musei del mondo e invece dovrebbe tornare nella città di Ascoli Piceno, se non direttamente presso Castel Trosino. Comunque permane l'incuria. Il comune dovrebbe prestare più attenzione alla manutenzione e promozione di siti archeologici come questo. Sicuramente altrove sarebbe una attrazione turistica top. Da visitare, con il rispetto dovuto a luoghi simili, e ben sapendo che quanto era sepolto lì, oggi è altrove. Documentarsi in anticipo. A place full of history and charm.
