Mooie B&B (met nieuwe, moderne kamers) in een karakteristiek oud en rustig plaatsje. Gastheer Ercole is enorm aardig en behulpzaam en geeft allerlei tips, bijvoorbeeld leuke plaatsen om te bezoeken en wandelroutes (die zijn er veel!). Zijn vrouw Roberta kookt de lekkerste gerechten, we hebben erg genoten van het diner! Het zwembad was ook fijn, en af en toe wandelen een van de drie huiskatten langs. In het plaatsje vind je nog een paar restaurants en een bakker. Goede aanrader!

Aperitivo offerto dalla casa, piatti genuini e materie prime locali. Antipasto molto buono (la gelatina di tarassaco spettacolare) così pure il primo. Prezzi un pò alti ma nel complesso soddisfatta! Ercole è un personaggio!!

E' stato un soggiorno splendido! Stanza curata e accogliente, piscina immersa nel silenzio per il massimo relax, colazione gustosa, varia e preparata con il cuore. Consigliatissimo il ristorante, per un viaggio speciale nei sapori locali e genuini. Quel che più mi ha colpito sono l'allegria e la passione dei titolari, quindi grazie di cuore a Ercole e Roberta. ?

Ercole è un padrone di casa spettacolare, mette a proprio agio i clienti con una gentilezza e simpatia uniche. La moglie Roberta è una cuoca super: piatti del territorio elaborati sapientemente e cucinati in maniera perfetta. Grazie della bella giornata che ci avete fatto trascorrere, facendoci conoscere le tradizioni locali.

Absolutely charming quiet filled with love of a very special couple

Found this place by coincidence, since the accomodation I've booked before got cancelled - what a blessing in disguise! I will certainly be coming back. ------------ Located in Palazzo sul Senio – a small mountain village in northern Mugello with a mere 1200 citizens –, Ercole and Roberta are operating this wonderful small hotel (just 8 rooms in total) since 36 years already. The rooms are newly renovated, spacious and light-flooded, some of them coming with a freestanding tub or fireside. The cleaning staff is doing an excellent, thorough job. The overall complex has a charming Italian flair with the restaurant being located on a nice veranda (warm season) or in a cosy fireside lounge (cold season), where Ercole serves the delicious local food cooked by his wife Roberta. The interior outside the hotel rooms is a bit like a museum – you'll find lots of antiquities and other old items. :-) While the neighborhood is perfectly suited for hiking and mountainbiking, the Locanda is likewise a great place to just relax by the pool (as we did), or to use it as a hub for excursions to other places in the Mugello area. ------------ Without exaggerating: I have never experienced such a high level of hospitatility in any other accomodation before. Ercole and Roberta treat you as warm and friendly that you quickly feel at home. The food served in the restaurant and cooked by Roberta is authentic for the Emilia-Romagna/Tuscany region and just delicious! The herbs used are from their own garden (in the daytime you can sometimes observe Roberta picking). Ercole never falls short of providing some background info on the meal and the ingredients used when bringing the food to the table. ------------ Grazie mille and see you very soon!
