★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il bosco S. Cristoforo è un bel posto che conosco da anni e ogni volta che ritorno lo trovo sempre più degradato. Sporcizia ovunque, staccionata in parte divelta, cumuli di sacchetti d'immondizia e altri rifiuti accanto ai cassonetti non svuotati da tempo, fontane senza acqua. Non so di chi è la competenza: Comune di S. Marco La Catola, Comunità montana o Forestale; comunque è un peccato.
 The S. Cristoforo wood is a beautiful place that I have known for years and every time I return I find it increasingly degraded. Dirt everywhere, partly torn up fences, piles of garbage bags and other waste next to bins not emptied for some time, fountains without water. I don't know whose competence it is: Municipality of S. Marco La Catola, Mountain or Forest Community; however it is a shame.

Cucina genuina gestita da persone cordiali. Ci ritorno ogni volta che posso.
Place away from the chaos of the city, surrounded by greenery, when I go there I would never want to leave.
Genuine cuisine managed by friendly people. I return there whenever I can.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Alla Locanda Bosco San Cristoforo ci sono stato domenica a pranzo, devo dire che è il classico luogo sperduto nel bosco dove sembra non esserci nulla, poi all'improvviso si vede questa costruzione in pietra molto carina, all'esterno non rende ma internamente è davvero particolare.
Si trova quasi sul ciglio della strada che porta al rifugio, si può parcheggiare comodamente e fare una bella passeggiata immersi nel bosco.
Il cibo è locale, con piatti di terra, taglieri di salumi e formaggi di zona, primi piatti a base di carne o funghi, come quello preso da me.
Prezzi contenuti e un'atmosfera cordiale e familiare rendono tutto molto carino.
La consiglio se siete in zona, si mangia molto bene qui.
At the Locanda Bosco San Cristoforo I was there on Sunday for lunch, I must say that it is the classic place lost in the woods where there seems to be nothing, then suddenly you see this very pretty stone building, outside it does not make it but inside it is really particular.
It is located almost on the edge of the road leading to the refuge, you can park comfortably and take a nice walk in the woods.
The food is local, with dishes from the land, cold cuts and cheeses from the area, first courses based on meat or mushrooms, like the one taken from me.
Low prices and a friendly and familiar atmosphere make everything very nice.
I recommend it if you are in the area, you eat very well here.

Da ritornarci sicuramente

Erano anni che non tornavo in questo posto fantastico, Una Locanda.
Il mio Amico conosceva il posto e quindi sapeva già cosa ci aspettava. Una sorpresa,
Il proprietario è venuto al Tavolo ci ha consigliato l'antipasto, un tagliere di salumi tipici delle Melanzane e zucchine alla griglia, mozzarella di bufala e del buon pane, ha consigliato anche il vino, un bianco, un rosato estremamente delizioso con i primi e un rosso per finire con i secondi. Vini suoi!!
I primi orecchiette fantastiche e ravioli da favola. Poi il secondo agnello e salsiccia grigliati con amore. La sorpresa era la bistecca di Vitello, Medium e servita con sale grosso, un sogno.
Il dolce delizioso.

The owner came to the table and recommended the appetizer, a platter of salami typical of grilled aubergines and zucchini, buffalo mozzarella and good bread, he also recommended wine, a white, an extremely delicious rosé with the first and a red to finish with the seconds. His wines !!
The first fantastic orecchiette and fabulous ravioli. Then the second lamb and sausage grilled with love. The surprise was the Veal steak, Medium and served with coarse salt, a dream.

In estate, invece, la struttura è aperta tutti i giorni; molte richieste, inoltre, arrivano dalle famiglie che vogliono celebrare qui il battesimo dei loro bambini o, a maggio, le comunioni. Di Iorio è stata quella di attivare un progetto culturale rivolto ad una clientela amante del turismo etico, sostenibile e rispettoso di un ambiente ancora intatto. Ad agosto 2011, grazie ai finanziamenti della Regione Puglia, è stato realizzato un percorso turistico ambientale all’interno del bosco di proprietà. Cucina semplice e genuina com'è anche il proprietario . Chi ama la natura ci deve passare. La pizza è veramente buona, ma non solo. Il gestore che è una persona molto disponibile fa anche degli ottimi primi. Il locale è rustico, il luogo immerso nella natura. Ottimi salumi . Ambiente familiare, prezzi assolutamente alla portata
