★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Livinglake Cannobio. Toller Service, die Beiden Vespa sind super gefahren. Preise sehr kulant. Haben für 5Std. geliehen, es sind aber 6 geworden - kein Problem und kein Aufpreis. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden. Immer wieder, sehr zu empfehlen. Conny und Andreas

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Chef des angeschlossenen Hotels hat mich persönlich beleidigt. Wir haben 2 Vespas dort geliehen für 24 h, zumindest wurde das so beworben. Als wir die zwei
Fahrzeuge abgeben wollten sollten wir dann einen Aufpreis von 20 Euro pro Vespa zahlen weil wir angeblich zu spät waren. Wir hatten die Fahrzeuge um 12 Uhr mittags geliehen und waren pünktlich um 12 Uhr am nächsten Tag dort. Erst war das Gespräch ganz sachlich mit der Angestellten des Hotels. Dann kam ein wütender Mann herein der sich nicht vorstellte und fing an persönlich zu werden. Dabei waren wir schon so weit den Aufpreis zu zahlen, weil im Vertrag 10 Uhr Abgabe angegeben war. Ok, es war mein Fehler, ich hatte bei der Abholung nicht aufgepasst, hab nicht alles genau gelesen,ist auch schwierig bei einem italienischen Vertrag. Deswegen hätte ich es zähneknirschend bezahlt. Was dann kam habe ich mir nicht träumen lassen. Er fing plötzlich mitten im Gespräch an rumzuschreien und beleidigte mich persönlich. Völlig unprofessionell! Völlig unnötig! Lief weg, um nach kurzer Zeit wieder (wir waren wieder dabei zu zahlen) von hinten herzustürmen und beleidigte mich erneut persönlich. Ich wiederhole nicht seine Worte.
Als er dann erneut abdampfte, konnten wir die Rechnung begleichen. Mussten aber mehrfach nach einer Quittung fragen. Schon seltsam...
Wir können es niemand empfehlen dort eine Vespa zu mieten, außer man steht darauf sich beleidigen zu lassen. 0 Punkte für den Vermieter und ein sehr trauriges Erlebnis nach den schönen Tagen hier am Lago. Es finden sich im Netz ähnliche Erfahrungen mit dem Hotelbesitzer, also sind wir nicht die Ersten. Wir waren übrigens bei der Polizei und wollten den Mann anzeigen. Hier in Italien darf man aber wohl Frauen ungestraft beleidigen. Ein Stern ist noch zu viel.

Then an angry man came in who didn't introduce himself and began to get personal. We were already so far as to pay the surcharge because the contract stated that the delivery time was 10 a.m. Ok, it was my mistake, I wasn't careful when I picked it up, I didn't read everything carefully, it's also difficult with an Italian contract. That's why I would have grudgedly paid for it. I never dreamed of what came next. He suddenly started screaming in the middle of the conversation and insulted me personally. Completely unprofessional! Completely unnecessary! Ran away, only to storm in from behind after a short time (we were there to pay again) and insulted me personally again. I am not repeating his words.
When it evaporated again, we were able to settle the bill. But had to ask for a receipt several times. Strange ...
We cannot recommend renting a Vespa there unless you are into being insulted. 0 points for the landlord and a very sad experience after the beautiful days here on the lake. There are similar experiences with the hotel owner on the net, so we are not the first. By the way, we were with the police and wanted to report the man. But here in Italy you can insult women with impunity. One star is still too many.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super leuke activiteit! Vraag achter een route aan de uitbater, zeker de moeite - via de bergdorpjes over zwitserland terug naar de vertrekplaats. Onderweg fantastische panoramas en leuke goedkope authentieke restaurantjes. De Scooters zijn top met ABS en airco ;)
Super fun activity! Ask the manager for a route, certainly worth it - via the mountain villages across Switzerland back to the departure point. Along the way fantastic panoramas and nice cheap authentic restaurants. The Scooters are top with ABS and air conditioning;)

Been to beautiful places with the rented Vespas! The 125cc runs perfectly in the mountains! Is well worth it !!

We rented a scooter (a Vespa 125cc) which was so much fun to ride I - almost - considered trading in my motorcycle for one. Though you do need a license, the manager didn't lie when he said it was "come una bicicletta" - albeit one that goes 80 km/h without any trouble.
The trajectory given to us by the local manager (in the Cannobio office) was simple to follow and had some amazing views, both in Piemonte (It) and Switserland. Afterwards we had plenty of time to ride to Intra and back following the lakeside road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reservation via the website/mail, confirmed in the hotel (parking available). Friendly staff (Italian, English, German) instructed us on the usage of the vespa's. The quite new vespa's are a pleasure to drive in the mountains around the Lago Maggiore. With the 5h, you have sufficient time to do a big tour and find a nice spot for a lunch in the mountains. Would highly recommend to do this as activity when staying a few days in the neighbourhood

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Completely convenient motor boat rental service, with friendly staff based in hotel Ghiffa. We were in our boat in about 10 minutes, starting a two hour hire (for which the only additional charge is fuel used - this was EUR 20 for us for the two hours).
The boat itself was modern and capable of about 35 km/h, which was plenty of speed to get down to the main islands off Stresa in about 20 minutes, if you get on with it, as we found when coming back!
This is good news, because if you tie up at a buoy belonging to one of the restaurants - the east coast of Isola Superiore looked particularly good for this - a tender will soon come out to bring you to shore for a lovely lunch.
This is very much recommended if you have two hours or longer, it was a great experience. If you have a full day, you could perhaps wander up to Switzerland for lunch.
All in all, I strongly recommend this and we will probably be back. Don't be put off by a lack of experience, the lake is enormous and you would have to try pretty hard to hit something.
