L'associazione Lamba Doria di Siracusa da sempre ha cercato di valorizzare il sito, posizionato in una delle aree più belle di Siracusa, un giorno spero di vederla adibita ad area museale in quanto protagonista dello "Sbarco in Sicilia del 1943". Consigliato ai viaggiatori amanti di natura, storia e paesaggio. I reparti speciali del SAS (Special Raiding Squadron) di Sua Maestà d’Inghilterra, si addestrarono in Palestina su una ricostruzione della batteria per poter conquistare l’avamposto italiano. Alle 02,15 del 10 luglio irruppero di sorpresa le truppe speciali inglesi, che riuscirono a sopraffare i legionari italiani dopo 2 ore di scontri. Oggi della memoria di questa battaglia rimangono solo dei ruderi in mezzo alla Penisola della Maddalena, una zona turistica, balneare archeologica e paesaggistica. La storia non andrebbe dimenticata o abbandonata, perché dovrebbe essere l’esempio di come gli uomini possano aspirare ad essere la migliore versione di sè stessi.
