This two elderly couple make this restaurant one of the best place to dining in Milano. Simple one of the address you must go when in Milano... Located in Brera one of the most cool area to live in this beautiful city.

Update: And again in June (2018). Appears I must make a stop at each visit in town. And again a few more pix. Update: Went again in April (2018) and all I said before still holds. Including some new pix.. Perfect little place. Perfect food. Didn't read any reviews before going in so I didn't know how small it is. Probably 7 tables. When I arrived (night) there was a couple ahead of me, and all the tables were full, so I had to wait 15-20 minutes to sit. Doesn't bother me, but if it would bother you, don't start your meal grumpy from the get-go and just go elsewhere. Several other good places within walking distance. Couple of the tables looked like locals, so that's a good sign. I've included the menu on the day I was there so you have an idea of the prices. Cheap, normal or expensive depends on your budget. Personally, I thought the prices fair (given the fineness of the cooking, quality of the ingredients, the size of the place and the decor). I don't speak Italian and who looked to be the owner's wife doesn't speak English but I have Google Translate to figure out words I don't recognize. What I ordered was delicious. Perfect balance. Top quality ingredients with top level (home cooking) flavor and taste. People usually trust me blind with my choices and of course you don't know me, but I highly recommend. Apparently the menu changes daily. Another very good sign.

Very nice place, run by a family. Fresh and tasty Italian food, with a daily changing menu. Do try the house cake…

When you’re searching for a local family owned establishment such as a restaurant in Milan, you’d think family owned, local people, sounds just right?! Wrong! We were spending last night in Milan, and by accident, as you do, whilst trailing google restaurants and reviews came across La Latteria. Sure, reviews were quite fairly good, and while we accepted that different people have different expectations, ours were different too. This is at best a mediocre, eccentric restaurant, super small, with a toilet out of restaurant premises we’re staff has to accompany you (that’s bizarre) to show/open/unlock 2 doors in a building adjacent to the restaurant, otherwise you’ll have to “hold it” and probably would need sat nav to guide you there. Now, the food. Well, what you pay is what you get right? Wrong! You’re charged on average for just a main plate (without any side such as potato or veg for which you pay separately) 23 euros, and the plate is a bambini size. So, strongly advise you plan your next stop somewhere to be fed fully as you will leave this place hungry. Or you”ll be paying “arm and a leg” to be full. We calculated, that 2 people with starters, mains, desert, water and small bottle of wine, will fork out at least 100-150 euros for very mediocre food. Bare in mind, if you decide to spend that kind of money, just add a bit more, and you can afford a Michelin starred restaurant… Staff, in whole honesty, are strange and don’t appear to give two flying rabbits if you like or dislike the food. Also we noticed that “the family” likes to tell people what goes with what, but not as a friendly suggestion, but in a telling you “off” manner! Perish the thought that you ask for condiments! We asked for parmesan for our pasta and the “member of family” told us it doesn’t go with that pasta?! Hm…. Oh and the waiter? With a mask all the time whilst other members of “La famiglia” were walking around without it, so no standards there. Positives? Well, wish there was one, or maybe there is a positive side, and that’s the fact you have a choice not to go there. If you go, you have been warned. Oh and one more thing, you’ll be charged 3 euros per person for the covers of the table, just for good measure!

My experience here was quite unpleasant. I’m not one to leave bad reviews , I would say ever, but the rudeness of the big man behind the bar was something I’ve never witnessed before, it is unfortunate that I understand Italian even though they didn’t know as I was referring to them in english . I have been travelling to Italy for years now and the general kindness, the excellence in food & the extraordinary customer service I have found around this country is outstanding . I’m afraid this restaurant was the exception in all of my years visiting here . Sad, as I was super excited to try it but I chose to leave. Respect is a non negotiable to me .

I was really excited to try this after a few recommendations from friends who visited Milano. Sadly I found it to be quite a “hipster” & pretentious scene. For the looks I was expecting something more authentic. The prices are ridiculous for trattoria kind of food . Would definitely prefer other places , especially in Italy where excellence abounds. Next time here I’ll Definitely ask someone local .

I can see why people enjoy coming here with its reliable dose of authenticity in the decor, the waitstaff, the grandma figure who floats about, the owner who sits at a table to share a short conversation with a patron. But the food was not especially delicious nor generous in quality or flavor. Don’t go out of your way, and certainly don’t believe your hipster friend that this is an experience worth seeking.

What a gem! Such a delicious, family oriented and smiley place. With its 7ish tables and a well experienced chef, this old fashioned place is managing to serve memorable dishes. Defintly the best pasta I had in Milano. The rest was amazing as well, including the delicious Bottarga salad. Add to that a heart warming service and you've got it all. Definitely a must.
