★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tourist trap. My wife's lamb did not taste like lamb, her asparagus was so over-cooked that it was almost grey. The sparkling water was flat, and WARM!!! Try elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved this place! Claudio Schmacci greeted me warmly and offered to call the hosts of the place I was staying. He also allowed me to practice my fledgling Italian on all my visits to the restaurant. The service and food were unfailingly good and inexpensive and I always ordered the "vino rosso di casa" and it was always wonderful. I will be returning to Gubbio in the fall and will definitely be coming back to La Canina. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our lunch experience here was so bad it was comedic. We asked to sit outside which seemed to piss off the server right away. We sat and waited forever for a menu (we really should have just left at that point). We received menus and sat again forever before he returned to take our order - the servers passed us on several occasions and no one stopped to check on us. Our server seemed genuinely angry about everything. We ordered and our food took so long before it came out. Thankfully, our pizzas were good which is why they're getting 2 stars and not 1. This could be a great spot but the service is horrendous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have ordered three different types of pasta but we were not impressed at all. Very basic taste, like it was done by children (the sauce was either very salty or very sour as of a cheap tomato can).
“Coperto” was added to the bill but bread was not received during the whole stay.
The place is nice and personnel kind but that’s all.
