β β β β β The place has a very nice chill vibe. The staff is very friendly and cheerful. The food was amazing as well as the wine. We shared between two people a miraculoso platter for 1 person (photo 3), one of the special of the day appetizers (first two photos) and 2 pasta dishes from the specials of the day "first dishes". The appetizer was made of potato with some kind of sausage and cheese. One pasta dish was with pistachio and pesto sauce and the other one was a mix of pasta and potatos with mushroom and truffle oil (both around 100gr) . The taste was amazing in every dish. We were very satisfied and would definitely recommend it to anyone who appreciates good food.

β β β β β Food is good (not amazing) and tastes nice. A special treat is the dessert by the same name as the restaurant. I did find the service to be the most unfavorable part of the dining experience. We had to ask a few times for the same thing and clearing of table whilst eating etc (it was past 9.30 with space so table wasnβt booked). Probably a high 3 rather than 4 stars

β β β β β Food was absolutely mind blowing. My friend and I ordered 2 pasta dishes from the specials of the day menu and they were completely out of this world. The host was very helpful and spent plenty of time explaining the menu and giving us recommendations that at all turned out great. The restaurant itself is charming and cost! We are so happy we stumbled on it!

β β β β β Came here because of the good reviews, but was very disappointed. It was our first night in Napoli and just wanted to have something great for dinner. Unfortunately, it was the worst food experience during our visit in Naples. There are many great restaurants with much cheaper prices and similar dishes, but with much better flavours. Januarius is not worth the hype.

β β β β β With such a convenient location, Januarius could easily live as a tourist trap. NEVERTHELESS the real essence of this venue couldn't be farthest from the concept of tourist trap. This restaurant instead offers food and wine of superb quality, all resourced locally and in season, in a location where the attention to details is tangible literally everywhere.
The decor of the walls recalls those of the nearby Dome (is literally opposite to the restaurant), enriched with pictures and sculptures of the eponimous Saint. The tableware have been carefully chosen to remind the shape and the colours associated to the Saint, and even the hanging lampshades mimic the cap of Saint Januarius!
What I could taste was not just the flavour of the food (which was excellent, my courgette pasta was to die for, and it was even shaped like mount Vesuvius!), but most important was the LOVE which was abundantly poured in ever moment we spent in this restaurant, making our stay at Januarius totally wonderful.
I also appreciated the syncretism permeating the ambient. Because if is true that tradition is important for Naples, is also true that its story is peppered with influences from the different cultures thay have crossed the path of the city throughout the centuries, so here you have a restaurant which is also a takeaway which is also a deli where to buy charcuterie, cheese and other preserves and marinated vegetables.
Totally recommended, if possible I would give 15 stars!

Honestly the best place to have an excellent and original Neapolitan food with a tricky twist. Delicious, innovative. Lovely plated and the most important it leaves you longing for more and more... Exquisite wine selection and wonderful service.
Itβs just a big pity weβve found it last day of our vacation. Otherwise weβd be there for every meal, including breakfast ;)
Try it and Iβm sure you wonβt regret it!
