Great tour if you want to see wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano, learn about how balsamic vinegar is aged and tour a prosciutto factory. Price is a little steep but with van service and the amount of food you eat, its definitely worth it. Lunch was lovely on top of a rolling hill with excellent and traditional food from the Emilia-Romagna region. Pro Tip - book tour via Italian Day's website. Learned that its cheaper on their website (160 euros) after talking to others on the tour who booked off third party website (210 euros).

I won't lie, I was a little apprehensive about the price of the bologna tour but it was excellent and well worth the money. The tour guides Alessandro and Pierre Giorgio were interesting and informative but also great fun. The food and wine we tasted on the tour were all amazing and very generous portions. Just a brilliant day out.

The Bologna Food and Wine Tour #1 is aptly named: It's simply has to be #1 on your list if you love food, if you love wine, and if you love Italy. And, in delicious helpings and servings, you will get up close and personal, hands-on, and behind the scenes with all of these wonderful ingredients on this tour. The Italian Days team is incredibly hospitable, knowledgable, and, well, just darned fun, and we came away feeling not just as though we had learned, discovered and experienced so many things, but also that we made friends and connections with more than just an itinerary populated with stops along the way. The truth is, we're not really big fans of organized tours, so I spent a lot of time researching before signing up for this one. You may be doing the same thing right now. Let me save you some time: Do it! You won't regret a single moment. This is the Italian day you've been waiting for!

A must do in Bologna for all food lovers!! We had such a great time, tasted amazing food, the factory tours were incredibly informative and Alessandro the guide is passionate, knowledgeable, fun & dynamic guide. He and everyone on the tour went over and above, paying attention to every details, to make your day memorable. Everyone and everything was very professionally done with a wonderful friendly Italian touch. Loved every moment of it! Grazie mille!

Such an incredible day. The host Alessadro was PHENOMENAL- his knowledge, his humour, his organisation. And then the food ? OMG! An excellently planned full day exploring Bolonga, Modena and Parma. Loved the balsamic tasting and rich family history and the food at the restaurant was to die for (be careful not to fill up on prosciutto first!). They were very generous with wine tasting throughout day. More than our moneys worth (book direct to save Β£ and help the tour operators ?)

Wow. A incredible day with an exuberant guide/host Alessandro, and some truly fabulous traditional Italian specialty foods. Getting up early to go on this tour to see Parmigianino Reggiano being made was well worth the effort. Early-risers are rewarded with a tasty breakfast that includes ricotta made fresh that morning - and a few glasses of Lambrusco. (Hey! You're on vacation, right?!) Follow that immediately with an in-depth tour and tasting of another tasty and unique Italian treasure - Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale DOP. Not just a tradition, this stuff is a labor of love and it's production borders on alchemy. Next comes a very in-depth look into the production of Prosciutto and related cured Italian meats. Being guided step-by-step through the processes of all of these products is enough to make you hungry for a taste - and you won't be disappointed! Oh - a few more glasses of great local wines are offered as well. Finally - after getting to taste several variations of Parmigianino Reggiano, Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale, and Prosciutto - you move on to (wait for it ....) LUNCH! You're kidding, right?! Nope! A great lunch with handmade tortellini and -frankly - more dishes than I can recall - and three or four MORE wines - all served until you can't eat another bite. (Several members of our but tour snoozed on the ride back to the hotel!) This really is a great tour and you WILL NOT leave hungry! Thanks Alessandro for showing us your passion for these incredible Italian foods and for making the effort to arrange such great tours!

We had an amazing time with Alessandro and all of the people that work so hard to put this tour together. We learned so much about the Emilia-Romagna region, Italian culture, Italian food. We got to see how the real Parmigiano-Reggiano is made, taste the world's best Balsamic vinegar at a local family-run farm and vineyard, tour a prosciutto factory. Then it was time for a wine tasting and all the pasta you could eat! It was a wonderful experience and we would recommend this tour to anyone who loves culture, history and of course authentic Italian food!

HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST TOUR BOLOGNA! CANNOT MISS IT! i thought it was expensive at first but after everything, the experience they give you and everything they provide you is worth the money. Alessandro, the tour guide was very very knowledgeable and very passionate about the factory productions. All three factories were so amazing and the knowledge that they give you is so educational and interesting if you have a passion for food! The whole tour and experience is a very unique and I cannot imagine nothing like it anywhere. There is so much wine tasting and so much food! SERIOUSLY SO MUCH FOOD THEY GIVE YOU. Breakfast was very filling a lot of different stuff you drink wine with everything and espresso if you like. The wine glass never goes empty. Lunch was very delicious and all the different pasta you can eat is very filling, we ended up skipping dinner with how much they fed us LOL. Very Good value for your money and it is so much worth it.
