I thought I knew everything about Vicenza and that I had now seen and reviewed everything that is worthy ... and instead! What a surprise in late December! A few steps from the Olympic Theater, just beyond the Ponte degli Angeli, on a street that becomes immediately quiet, there is a sober building with an almost completely anonymous door - inside there is what I now consider to be the secret fulcrum of the city, true magnet of heavenly graces and lightning rod against evil– It is the Mother House of the Dorotee of Vicenza (properly: Master Sisters of Santa Dorotea, daughters of the Sacred Hearts). Inside, in the rooms accessible by every visitor who is respectful and well disposed, you will find the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration; the chapel with the remains of Santa Maria Bertilla Boscardin; finally a small church with the remains of San Giovanni Antonio Farina, the founder of the Congregation. Everywhere a silence and peace that cannot be described. You are tired? Restless, agitated? Sad, distressed? Revenue ... Stop for a moment next to the remains of the two Saints; then sit at the bottom of the Adoration Chapel and stop for a while ... I am sure that the miracle described by Raïssa Maritain in her beautiful poem entitled "POSTCOMMUNIO" will also be fulfilled for you, the one that begins like this: "On se sent la toute petite chose que l'on est ..."
