Sorto sull'ex podere Palazzina della Cassa di risparmio di Reggio Emilia nel 1988 per mano dell'ex municipalizzata Agac, nacque inizialmente come centrale funzionante a carbone.

Built on the former Palazzina farm of the Cassa di Risparmio of Reggio Emilia in 1988 by the former municipal agency Agac, it was initially born as a coal-fired central.
