Il Pescatore

Quite simply exquisite - of course the setting is wonderful, but all the harbour side restaurants have this - but the biggest difference with Il Pescatore is that the staff really really care about the quality of the ingredients, the quality of what is on your plate and the quality of your meal. We had a wonderful experience, and we are already plotting how to come back from the UK for return visit. Enjoy!

Just the best restaurant in Procida. We had a lovely dinner at the 5th of October. The place opened two months earlier. Everything is tip top. The menu is of course fish, very well prepared and fresh, the fishermen almost moor at your table. The staff is incredibly professional and at the same time charming and they all speak English. The location and the internal design is just spot on, marvelous view over the colorful world heritage village and the bay. We have visited Procida frequently the last five years and tried a lot of restaurants.... Pescatore is by far the best! You will fall in love in the place.

We ate here in June 2021 and were really disappointed by the quality and flavor of the food. Tuna tartar was cut far too large and completely unseasoned, not a hint of salt or lemon or lime or ginger, nothing. Fettucine far far too al dente. Tasteless tomatoes. By far the most overpriced and underwhelming meal we had in Procida. It is a terrible shame because the place is beautifully decorated and surrounded by a romantic atmosphere.

The food was beautiful balanced and tasty. The location is nice, and the restaurant is cozy.

Amazing place and food! Our personal favorite on Procida. If you're visiting the island you have to eat here. The sea view is beautiful and the staff is friendly as well. Grazie & alla prossima!

Gorgeous view, inventive and tasty food, and overall a good experience. Il Pescatore has the most inventive menu on Procida’s south-eastern bay, with top-quality seafood dishes each with inventive and tasty-sounding premises. We could not sample them all in our light dinner, but the octopus with polenta was amazing and the mussel gnocchi dish very good as well. They were very busy the night we went, with the one server working outside striving gamely to take care of smaller tables and a very demanding ten person party. Against odds, our server left us very satisfied and the food was superb with recommended wine. Il Pescatore is a worthy stop on an island with many good places to eat.

There are a lot of things to like about Il Pescatore. The location is superb, at the quieter end of Corricello’s marina. It may be the most beautiful spot for a meal or an apéro on Procida. We went twice, once for an early evening aperitivo and once for lunch. The former was great, the latter much less so. Having just a drink with complimentary nibble was perfection. Generous and a solid spritz. Friendly service. Wooden tables are smart and nicer than plastic or metal. Liked the owner very much. She explained that they use only local ingredients. I ordered the grilled fresh fish of the day at €70/kilo. It was a medium-small whole local fish, clearly fresh, and cost €27. Cooked perfectly. For that price, despite it being delicious, you really don’t get much actual fish to eat. It sort of put me off ordering catch of the day grilled fish in the future because I guess I just don’t have the budget. For the same money, you can get 4 delicious pizzas or two great pasta dishes in the same marina. Is the fish really worth it? Up to you. Ordered a side of grilled vegetables which was really a miss. Delicious and well cooked but: Why skimp on veg? There were literally five almost ribbon-thin slices of courgette, aubergine and peppers. Took up only a small portion of the plate they were served on. You could make up for the (understandable?) high price of the fish by spoiling people with the amazing veg. But no. It was a miserly portion. This left a feeling of being taken advantage of. Also house glass of white wine was smalllllll and not great, an aggressive, brassy white. The mixed salad was delicious. Perfectly dressed with a citrusy vinaigrette. Again, such a small portion. Shame. Why skimp on leaves? My partner had the special from the ardoise on the sandwich board outside. Tuna tartare. €17. Again, smaller. The odd thing about it was that it wasn’t too lemon-y and was pretty much only chopped pieces of tuna in a flat pancake. Usually with tuna tartare you might expect some courgette or tomato and that the meat is slightly ‘cooked’ in the lemon juice. Not so. It was plain and not particularly tasty. The next day he was not well - wiped out the entire day and awful digestion. Since we cooked at home base morning and evening and ate the same things apart from the tuna, we felt the tuna was the culprit. Impossible to know for certain, but likely. He says that’s put him off tartare for a while. So conclusion- great place for the spot on the marina amongst the fishing boats and water. Nice folks. Good drinks. Risottos at next table looked good! Plentiful. Fish was great but small. Just order carefully? and small appetite is best.

Such a lovely place! One of the most welcoming hosts/owners! Big smiles, warm attitude, which immediately make you feel welcome! And the food was delicious! See food platters were great, fish just taken from the see! And the salad from lemons from Procida was absolutely great - a must to try! Warm thanks to all! We definitely recommend!
