A must for anyone visiting Montalcino and wanting to taste genuine local food and wine. We have lunched and dined here innumerable times over a number of years. Will not change it for the world! Our go-to restaurant in Montalcino! Thank you Alessandro and Giulia and your lovely family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We absolutely loved our experience at this restaurant. The staff were so friendly and the food delicious - some of the best we had whilst in Italy. We ordered a starter to share - when this came out, the waiter also bought out some artichokes, which were lovely. He came over with some olive oil to try and 3 wines as well. The pasta course was amazing and so were our mains. We ordered a dessert and the waiter bought over plate of all their desserts for us to try, along with more wines (deserts wines) to try. The food was such good value, particularly with all the added extras they gave to us - so generous. Seemed like really genuine people in a traditional family run restaurant. Can’t recommend highly enough - we wish we could go there every night for dinner!

We arrived on a Monday for lunch at 12.30 without a booking. The restaurant was empty. We ordered the crostini misto which was delicious. They also poured us a special olive oil to taste. We ordered a glass of red wine each but received 3 glasses of different reds each for tasting, even though we didn’t ask for it. It was so nice of them and we really enjoyed our experience dining there.
The pasta perfectly bouncy in texture, it was so good! we especially liked the pinci with garlic and tomato sauce. It’s quite strong in taste even though it doesn’t look it. The pappardelle with wild boar sauce was also tasty.
We finished with 2 icecream truffles and an espresso. We thought the gelato was truffle flavoured, but they are not. The white one was vanilla with some coffee icecream inside and the other was like a baci chocolate flavour. They were both still delicious. All this for €46!

It was a wonderful experience
The person serving us treated us like royals
He wanted us to savour the different olive oil which are produced in Montalcino
We started by choosing fresh pecorino with honey I loved it Very unusual starter
The pasta with Ragu Di Cinghiale was abundant and very tasty I had Roast Veal Tasty and very tender We were given red wine to taste which we liked so ordered a litre of same wine Instead of sweet I opted for cheese platter Excellent choice
I or rather we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to enjoy a very relaxing meal
