As soon as we arrived in Prato, the first place where we drank our first glass of wine was at the Grain of grapes The interior is really beautiful, the furniture is very nice and the immense paintings that occupy almost all the walls. Strange but interesting in a restaurant, the cushions on the benches. We asked for information for the 31st and the mixed menu of meat and fish seemed interesting and so we booked. On the evening of the 31st and when we arrive they offer us a welcome prosecco and then a bottle of wine. The room soon got crowded, perhaps a little too much considering the Covid period. The appetizers arrive, a pie was missing from my plate, the very kind waitress changes my plate, but on the way back the cod meatballs are missing. Really very sorry waitress brings extra meatballs. They bring us risotto with scallops and prawns, unfortunately the dish does not meet expectations in any way, bland, without any taste of the sea and without prawns. The Tortelli are good and then comes the second course of fish, honestly we found the fruit and vegetable salad too coarse to be appreciated. The pork loin was rejected without remission, the bread too high and the meat that had no flavor too dry. The lentil, contrary to the order of the menu, arrives before the dessert, two slices of zampone and a spoonful of lentil for 2 people. The sweet is exaggerated, in quantity and sweetness, all too nauseating. Summing up, I would say that it was not an exciting experience, I understand that there were people but there could have been a little more care even in the dishes. We have to thank the waitress who supported us all evening trying to make up for it with her availability.

We came here as a relatively large group, and the staff did their very best to accommodate us on the same table outside. The foldable fans on the table were much appreciated in the hot weather. One of the better pizza places we tried, and their special seafood menu was excellent as well, all for a good price.

I highly recommend Il Chicco d’Uva! I dined solo and I had a wonderful experience. I ordered the zucchini risotto and it was delicious and memorable. The service is excellent, very friendly and kind manager gave me a house wine and appetizer. If you are a traveler, they speak both English and Italian. They have a relaxed outdoor seating and a beautiful indoor setting. Great prices!! I will definitely come back!
