Il locale negli anni ha cambiato tre gestori, devo dire che gli ultimi stanno mandando avanti molto bene il tutto. Per quanto riguarda la colazione, innanzitutto la location è perfetta: grande portico riparato che dà su via Poscolle e tavolini comodi e carini. La cameriera (credo fosse anche la titolare) arriva dopo 5 minuti con un bel sorriso e mi elenca una miriade di gusti di creme con cui può riempire sul momento la brioche vuota: bella idea! Scelgo crema e arriva poco dopo assieme ad un ottimo e caldo cappuccino. La brioche è perfetta, lievitazione ok e crema abbondante e gustosa, promossa a pieni voti e sicuramente ci tornerò per provare gli altri gusti. Prezzo in linea con i locali simili del centro.

The restaurant has changed three managers over the years, I must say that the last ones are running everything very well. As for breakfast, first of all the location is perfect: large sheltered porch overlooking Via Poscolle and comfortable and cute tables. The waitress (I think she was also the owner) arrives after 5 minutes with a nice smile and lists me a myriad of flavors of creams with which she can fill the empty brioche on the spot: great idea! I choose cream and it arrives shortly after with an excellent and hot cappuccino. The brioche is perfect, leavening ok and abundant and tasty cream, passed with flying colors and I will definitely be back to try the other flavors. Price in line with similar clubs in the center.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really like the cozy atmosphere in this book filled coffee shop. The staff is also soooooo kind and have always a smile on their faces (which makes this place even cozier).
It's a good place to have a coffee while studying or just have lunch with a friend. At the end of the day you may find the place full of people having a 'aperitivo'. When weather is warm you can sit outside with a book to read. You'll find people of all ages here, from students to older people just chatting and enjoying the pastries and wine...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As an ex-pat living abroad, I have had the pleasure of visiting many fine Italian bars, particularly in Udine. All have their particular charms, but one visit to 'Il Caffè dei Libri ' and I knew that I had found something special.The ambiance changes to accommodate the time of day, but the food, the drinks, and especially the warmth generated by the staff remains consistently above average. Many return visits have done nothing to change my perception that 'Il Caffè' is a great place to chill out with a drink and a book, or pass an hour laughing with some friends. It's also quiet enough to discuss business over some fine lunch menu items. I have made ''Il Caffè dei Libri ' to be my bar of choice, for as long as I am in Udine.
