As a visiting tourist, this restaurant was pretty good. The prices were reasonable, the food was tasty, and the interior/ambiance was on par to great restaurants in Chicago (a big foodie city). I would definitely recommend this place to my friends who plan on visiting Verona!

Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff. The food is ok. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, it's ok. The kitchen's timing was off tonight resulting in huge lags between courses. They have a very limited vegetarian menu options, so vegetarians beware. That said, the wait staff is willing to work with you to figure out a good vegetarian option. Another thing to beware of, if you order maki, the price on the menu is the per piece price and you must order two pieces. For example, I ordered the uni which is listed at 4€ and ended up paying 8€ because I had to order 2 pieces. This pricing policy is somewhere on the menu but I wish it was more prominently featured as a "buyer beware." I'd come back if someone else insisted but definitely not a place I'd put on a regular rotation.

Good quality of food, valuable price! Even miso soup is delicious. I went there twice during 4 day-visit Verona (Recommend for fried rice)

The restaurant was very busy, but i still don't think it is okay to serve the customers at the table at different times. My boyfriend got his warm sushi and was done eating it before i ecen got mine. The quality of the sushi was very good, but i dropped off the stars for the service, cause i think for this price you could expect better.

Ikai is the ultimate β€œΓ  la carte” upscale sushi experience in Verona! The stylish interior mixes the traditional β€œSeiza” experience of floor-level tables with the comfort of western seating as well as an eye-catching Kaiten area. Launched in 1999, first sushi restaurant in Verona and in the Veneto Region, Ikai gained widely recognized prestige thanks to its high quality sushi ingredients as well as the β€œTeppanyaki” technique consisting of using an iron griddle to cook several other traditional Japanese dishes such as the renowned luxurious Kobe beef. My Uramaki menu: Gold Maki (Spicy tuna, Philadelphia cheese, avocado, tuna belly and scallops, caviar, fresh wasabi and gold leaves; 21€), Maki di nidi (Tuna/Salmon; Crunchy Kataifi Maki, w/ Tuna/Salmon tartare; 15.50€), Kyoto (Philadelphia cheese, tempura, avocado, alkekengi, scallops, miso yuzu; 16.50€), Salmon Lovers (Avocado, Salmon, Spicy Salmon flambΓ¨; 14.50€) and Spider Maki (Soft Crab tempura w/ tobiko and spicy sauce; 15.50€).

What is the best compliment you can make on a sushi bar? Basically that the fish is very fresh and that is exactly what you will find in Ikai. We ordered two bento's (japanish menu including soup, main dish and dessert) for approx 15/18€ each and they were very good. The soup was correct (7/10), fresh and tasty. The main dishes were very good, specially the tepanyaki chicken and the tuna and salmon sashimi, I give them a 9/10. With regards to the desserts you can choose either fruit or ice cream. The fruit was good, nothing to complain about but the green tea ice cream was very very good (9/10). So all that together, the good price and a good and quick service made a 5* place to us. So we would recommend a visit for fish lovers :)

No β€œall you can eat” style. It’s the best Japanese cuisine restaurant in Verona, so far. Large menu with a great variety of fresh fish, both row and cooked.
