C	Charlotte Gunn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked this hotel because of the lake-front location, which we were not disappointed by. It is a gorgeous location and having a drink on the terrace is very relaxing with beautiful views. We also were able to swim in the lake and take out boats which was very enjoyable so glad we chose this hotel for those reasons. However, I have to agree with other reviews that the decor is dated and tired, they should really update and refurbish the communal areas, although the room was ok. The place also seemed to be understaffed, we were often waiting over 10 mins at the bar or on the terrace before we were able to order a drink, which became quite annoying. On a couple of occasions I actually had to get up to go find a staff member before we could order on the restaurant terrace which was ridiculous. We ate in the restaurant twice, the first time (saturday night) we were unimpressed. Food was poor to average and we waited a long time for menus when we arrived. However, the second time (monday night) the food was very good and service much better so not sure what to say overall. I would probably stay elsewhere if I returned to Lake Orta which is a shame as the hotel has a lot of potential, it just needs a makeover and a few more (attentive) staff
A	Anna Fantini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have recently had our anniversary dinnere here at Hotel Ristorante Giardinetto and the location - with its breathtaking view of the lake and the setting sun - proved to be very romantic. The restaurant is classy, elegant and it requires a minimum of dressy clothes, but nothing you can't easily pull off. We chose our courses from a rich menu, it is possible to try a fixed menu or to pick the dishes you want separately. The food is delicious, not over abundant but we felt full and satisfied at the end, the wine selection is good and everything is well presented, with particular care and style. The service is courteous and efficient, they never make you feel out of place. Obviously the place is a bit pricy, medium tp high, but it is convenient nonetheless if you consider the scenary, the care and the tasty courses.
J	Jez Longhorn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite frankly this is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. It is old and dated and doesn't deserve the prime site it is situated on, on the shore of the Lake. The decor is tired to say the least, the lounge/bar is a dark uninviting area to relax in and as for the restaurant, the food is worse than a poor motorway service station and I am probably doing the service station a disservice. I am astounded as to where some of the reviews of the place are coming from. In my experience my wife and I were not served one palatable meal in the three nights we visited the restaurant and had to resort to eating out on the further four nights we stayed there. The straw that broke the camels back was when we were served tinned peas with the meal. I have seen some of the pictures on the site that portray beautifully presented food which is a million miles from what we were served and saw being served. Extremely poor and hopelessly overrated.
D	David George on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent hotel, helpful staff with a romantic restaurant overlooking the lake if you don't want to go out. The road is quite busy and a bit noisy and parking is not always easy, especially if there is a marriage. We had a room overlooking the "beach" area. The lake is great for swimming and there is a large pool. You can walk to the village of Pettenasco where there are shops, bars and restaurants.
c	carl grigg on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best night of service, food and drink. Beautiful location, beautiful table outside on the balcony next to lake. Whilst at the table enjoying my wine before the main food came along i fed the fish and duck. Such a good evening.
D	Dennis Lynch on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ you gotta go!!!! best place for a great view, great roof top bar for a drink and then the restaurant. what can I say it was fabulous. we had a phenomenal meal, great wines and so reasonably priced, we had to look twice to make sure the bill was correct. go to this restaurant if you are in lake orta.
t	tarangolian gmx on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent 2 nights as a couple here and we felt very uncomfortable during our stay: the receptions staff is a mixture between arrogance and helpless attitude. They treated us like foreign idiots. At the end we preferred not to ask anything. Our room was small and outdated. A simple wooden door separated us from another room (we suppose it was a room for parents´children) - we heard everything which happened in the room next to us. The room price was highly exaggerated. In the evening we ate at the restaurant, nice food and nice staff (...definitely better than the hotel staff). Breakfast in the morning was fine. Nice view over the sea... But just far too expensive. This hotel is NOT to recommend.
S	Sylvain Delaunay on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited the end of August. The pool and the rooftop bar were closed, which was a disappointment as it is included in the experience. The rooms were old, low sound insulation (road and neighbours), and looked like hospital rooms. The decoration is back in the 90s, but not in a good way. The bed was big, though. The view from the restaurant area was great. Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Coffee was a disaster. Overall, I would not come back, neither recommend.
