★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sembra di "dormire" su di un treno anni 1970 tra passaggi veloci di macchina che sfrecciano poco sotto la tua posizione e la contingente vicina stazione ferroviaria. Camere in stile classico, porta finestra esterna nn chiudibile perchè da riparare e/o sostituire. Pompa di calore funzionante. Bagni totalmente da rifare.
 It seems to "sleep" on a 1970s train between fast car passes that whiz by just below your position and the contingent nearby train station. Classic style rooms, external French door cannot be closed because it needs to be repaired and / or replaced. Working heat pump. Bathrooms totally to be redone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent my first night in Siracusa at Lol Hostel across the street and decided I needed a private room. Hotel Arcgimede Ortigia's staff were so welcoming. I felt like I was staying with a loving Italian family. The hotel is very clean, the area is safe, and only a 10 minute walk to the city center. They were so quick to get me a spoon for food I had brought back, or ice, or anything I needed. And the bird says "Ciao!"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not book this hotel. This was our fourth hotel/B&B on this trip and it was by far the worst. It is run down and in clear need of structural work. I woke up to most foul smell. It came from the bathroom and it was clear that the scent came from the sewer or septic tank. Vile, it was. The extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like a Boeing 747 in need of repairs.
