A	Alan Kuhlman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hertz Florence Italy provided us with a car that they said had a full tank of gas...it was almost empty and we ran out of gas and had to find a gas can and walk to a gas station. I strongly suggest using any other auto rental agency other than Hertz.
J	James Hall-Morrison on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had resd reviews complaining that the operator of this franchise office found excuses to add extra charges to the bill, so we ashed our landlord to go with us to arrange the rental and establish the price. We were taking the car in the morning Thursday and bringing it back Saturday so we anticipated a two-day rental and the price was quoted on that basis. We asked when the car had to be retirned to avoid extra charges and were told it had to be in by 1 PM since they closed at 1 on Saturday. We timed our drive back from Assisi so we were at the Hertz office at 12:30. We were then told that we had to pay for an EXTRA DAY because we took the car out at 11:00 AM and didn't return it until 12:30! Obviously they are accustomed to dealing with tourists from out of town and count on never seeing a customer again. We intend to return in a few monrhs to stay for a year or two if we can get an extended-stay visa. We will certainly go elsewhere if we need to rent a vehicle, and will do our best via online postings to warn other travellers to avoid this agency, or at least cover their backs by getting pricong and expected return time in writing!
M	Mary Ann on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The people at this Hertz are fantastic. They stayed open longer so we could get a car for the Christmas holiday, and they let us leave the car at the cafe next door the day we returned it since they were closed. The car was clean and it made life so much easier!

We were originally supposed to pick up our car at 10 AM, but dropped by shortly before to let them know we would be picking it up at 1 PM instead. We had a bit of a holdup and arrived a few minutes late and were so afraid we would not be able to pick up a car. Not only were they accommodating, but they furnished us with exactly the car I had hoped to rent! The blue Fiat 500C really made our day!!

Our car (which we reserved 6 weeks in advance) was not even THERE, we stood in line for 40 minutes to be told we might have to wait another hour or so (until a car was returned) and then finally given a car and told we had to come back the next day to exchange it. I said that was impossible, then they said we had agreed to come back and exchange it. Then they said we'd have to pay for the upgrade that we didn't ask for. And the clerk was rude and tried to imply that I lied about telling her we wouldn't bring the car back. Then implied that we only didn't bring the car back because we wanted the slightly bigger car. NO, we wanted our car there in the first place and we didn't want the major inconvenience of driving across Orvieto and standing in line again to exchange the car for a car that THEY should have had ready in the first place. They nitpick everything about what the renter is supposed to do but don't feel like they have to live up to their obligations of having the car ready in the first place. Plus the car was dirty.
L	Lance Jones on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So we parked in front of the building to return our vehicle. There is an actual place to return in the gas station across the street. Very close to the train station. We picked the car up in Florence and returned it to Orvieto . Think there was a little confusion but they worked it out quickly. Painless which was good because it dont speak Italian.
