Definitely an interesting adventure! The whole underground area is well lit and beautiful features are highlighted, so you know, where to look at. The area is really gigantic and fascinating! Also, be aware, that if the organizers warn you about 1000 steps, there will literally be 1000 advertised steps and a very steep ladder climb (careful, of you are afraid of heights!)

Very beautiful cave which is definitely worth the visit (which lasts about an hour). In the cave there are about 11 degrees Celsius so it is better to bring a jacket or sweater. The only problem is that there is not a tour guide in English, but only in Italian. (I have been three times and the english guide was always missing). They offer the possibility to listen a guide available in various languages by downloading one of their applications but remember to be equipped with your earphones. I suggest the administration to offer a tour guide at least in Italian and English languages as the ticket is not cheap.

Fantastic experience! Guide was amazing with really bublly and happy personality answering on all additional questions! I was only non-italian speaking person in the group, and I got full personal translation from a guide. 10 ✨ for her.

An amazing pearl right next to city of Trieste. Due to its size (Guinness world record SIZE ?), scientific measurements are carried inside, that are almost unique in the world. i can't without mentioning the young new guide who made the tour even extra more great! At 101m depth it is 11 degrees inside  so do not forget the extra jacket ?

Didn't expect to visit a cave in Italy but it was really cool glad we did went. It's about 1000 steps total so be prepared.

If you are nearby - take the time to visit this! Tickets costs just ~13 Euros and it is worth it! We managed to go through the cave in less then 2 hours. It was not very cold, nice to have some jacket, but overall shorts will do just fine. Be ready to walk around 1k stairs, but it was quite easy for non-sporty people to manage them as well. There are many stops on the way, so there is time to take a breath and take some cool photos. Parking is available nearby the entrance and also you can plan in few more minutes to explore the exhibition that is located in the same building. English language tour is also available.

An absolutely mind blowing experience. I've been to a couple of really impressive caves in different countries over the years, but the grotta gigante blew them all out of the water. 500 uneven stairs up and down to get in and out, so just make sure you are physically ready and have good footwear. Well with the short bus ride or drove out of the way if you are in the Trieste area.

Definitely the largest open area I've seen in a cave. It's overwhelming to enter this huge open space that is completely under ground (as with any cave, of course) and especially to descend to its bottom and then up again. A wonderful experience and a great guide! We had a nice technical discussion and we got interesting details about the earth, not just this cave. Great job!
