★ ★ ★ ★ ★ è una Chiesa di rito greco - bizantino e di lingua liturgica ucraina, presente in Ucraina ed in altri paesi del mondo fra cui l’Italia.
Essa riconosce l’autorità papale, i dogmi ed il catechismo cattolico ma conserva appunto la liturgia bizantina, molto simile a quella praticata dalla Chiesa Ortodossa. Mantiene la comunione con la Chiesa di Roma. Le differenze rispetto al rito latino è che I sacramenti, caratteristica del rito bizantino (Battesimo, Comunione e Cresima) vengono celebrati tutti insieme, al momento del battesimo. Il battesimo si fa per immersione o per aspersione (l'acqua deve scorrere prima sulla testa e poi sul
resto del corpo del bambino).
Nel matrimonio bizantino è previsto il rituale dell'«incoronazione degli sposi». Il sacerdote mette davanti all'altare un tavolo; la coppia bacia il Vangelo e la Croce e poi gira tre volte attorno al tavolo. La messa domenicale viene celebrata in modo solenne, con molte parti cantate, ad accompagnare, sottolineare o intervallare le diverse fasi della liturgia. Anche la liturgia della parola è cantata. Mi sono ripromesso di andare a messa da loro e notare da vicino le differenze con la mia religione cattolica.

It recognizes papal authority, dogmas and Catholic catechism but preserves the Byzantine liturgy, very similar to that practiced by the Orthodox Church. Maintains communion with the Church of Rome. The differences with respect to the Latin rite is that the sacraments, characteristic of the Byzantine rite (Baptism, Communion and Confirmation) are celebrated all together, at the time of baptism. Baptism is done by immersion or sprinkling (the water must first flow over the head and then over
rest of the child's body).
In the Byzantine marriage the ritual of the "coronation of the spouses" is foreseen. The priest places a table in front of the altar; the couple kisses the Gospel and the Cross and then goes around the table three times. Sunday mass is celebrated in a solemn way, with many sung parts, to accompany, underline or alternate the different phases of the liturgy. The liturgy of the word is also sung. I promised myself to go to mass with them and to notice closely the differences with my Catholic religion.
