★ ★ ★ ★ ★ American's or anyone with hotel standards above a crack house DO NOT STAY HERE. I've seen Motel 6s in better conditions than this dump. The so called STAR rating for Grand Hotel de Rose is completely miss leading. The hotel is in need of some major safety, and cosmetic upgrades. My wife nearly broke her ankle trying to walk up the stairs leading to the beach and restaurants because there was no lighting. Hoodlums were hanging on the back side as well, not safe.... The A/C does not cool the rooms or hotel, rather it helps spread the smell or urine throughout the entire place. In addition to having been given a smelly room we had blood and other unidentified stains on the bedding. Please do not book here, if you do you will be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've been staying here for a week and really like it. Staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are clean and ours has a great view. Beach is short walk away. Breakfast is really nice. Lots of options. Pool is large with nice seating area and bar. Would definitely come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice old and old fashioned hotel. It's well maintained but need serious renovation.
Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast is fine. Almost all the staff os very pleasant and friendly.
Pool is nothing particular but hotel has own part of city beach and it's really nice.
It would be great to have some signs on the way to hotel, for the first time visitors it's not easy to find the way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice location , wonderful view. A real restaurant is missing, even though is possible to eat on the connected restaurant on the beach. The breakfast is not as good at it should be: small misunderstanding with the waitress that shouldn't happen in a 4 stars. Anyway, the personal is helpful and kind, and the very nice location, close to the private beach and only 10-15 minutes walk to Scalea makes it easy to forget the car and enjoy the surrounding by walk. In my opinion is a perfect place for a long weekend or even a longer staying.
