Il sentiero è praticamente sparito a causa della vegetazione ed è pieno di immondizia di ogni tipo. The place would also be beautiful, the problem is total abandonment to oneself. Beautiful landscape, if you like to take a walk it's the right occasion, go all the way and you will see wonderful waterfalls, relaxing landscapes and if you are lucky the eagle a wonderful bird of prey. All this is the Velino gorges.

Il posto è bello ma deve essere valorizzato e organizzato meglio We wanted to take a walk but it wasn't possible. There is no footpath but eventually you have to walk on the roadside. The place is beautiful but it needs to be enhanced and better organized
C	Cristian Carandente on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Le gole del Velino (o di Sigillo, da non confondere con le vicine Gole di Antrodoco) sono delle gole situate in provincia di Rieti (Lazio), all'interno dei territori dei comuni di Antrodoco, Micigliano e Posta, create dallo scorrere del fiume Velino. Comprese tra i siti di interesse comunitario del Lazio, sono state definite dal Touring Club Italiano «forse la [forra] più selvaggia e suggestiva di tutto l'Appennino» Rappresentano un tratto della valle del Velino dove il fiume ha scavato una fossa molto profonda tra pareti a precipizio, stretta tra il massiccio del monte Terminillo ad ovest e l'appennino abruzzese (parte settentrionale della catena centrale abruzzese con i monti Giano e Cerreto) ad est. Le gole si allungano in direzione nord-sud per circa 14 km; hanno inizio a Posta, 720 m s.l.m., e proseguono in discesa fino a terminare ad Antrodoco, 495 m s.l.m., che rappresenta la porta di accesso da sud. Da Antrodoco il fiume prosegue verso ovest e la sua valle si allarga e più avanti diventa la Piana di San Vittorino, mentre ad est dipartono le più piccole gole di Antrodoco. Il territorio delle gole è interessato da fenomeni carsici e dalla presenza di diverse grotte: la Grotta di San Quirico, la Grotta Oscura, le Grotte di Romualdo, lo Strambo del Paladino e il Fosso di Portella. The gorges of Velino (or Sigillo, not to be confused with the nearby Gole di Antrodoco) are gorges located in the province of Rieti (Lazio), within the territories of the municipalities of Antrodoco, Micigliano and Posta, created by the flow of the river Velino. Included among the sites of community interest in Lazio, they have been defined by the Italian Touring Club as "perhaps the wildest and most evocative [gorge] of the whole Apennines" They represent a stretch of the Velino valley where the river has dug a very deep pit between precipitous walls, squeezed between the massif of Mount Terminillo to the west and the Abruzzo Apennines (northern part of the central Abruzzo range with the Giano and Cerreto mountains). East. The gorges stretch north-south for about 14 km; they start at Posta, 720 m a.s.l., and continue downhill until they end in Antrodoco, 495 m a.s.l., which represents the gateway from the south. From Antrodoco the river continues westward and its valley widens and later becomes the Piana di San Vittorino, while the smaller Antrodoco gorges branch off to the east. The territory of the gorges is affected by karst phenomena and by the presence of several caves: the Grotta di San Quirico, the Grotta Oscura, the Grotte di Romualdo, the Strambo del Paladino and the Fosso di Portella.
