β β β β β Very good choice in Catania if you are looking for an authentic dinner. We were tourists but it seemed locals eat there too. Pistacchio-steak was amazing! The decoration is fascinating you can always explore funny details.

β β β β β Nice situated place, a bit hidden in a small street. We had a pasta norma and pasta with basil pesto, both amazing! Service is ok but is hard to communicate in english (which is pretty normal here) and we didnt got the bread :(. Prices are very reasonable.

β β β β β Unfortunately I have to give this restaurant a bad review only because of the way they dealt with the bill. When we arrived, the waiter told us we could have a taster aperitivo menu and then see if we wanted anything more. We agreed so we didn't look into the menu and let them bring us whatever they wanted to offer. It was delicious and we didn't need more...at this stage I would give it a 4 star. But then we asked for the bill... And they charged us for each plate in the taster menu individually as if we had ordered each dish straight off the menu. That's not what a taster menu is! We would have ordered our own things individually if that's what was going to happen anyway... We even tried discussing it with them but they didn't care. Pity. Be careful of you go there. We were even there with locals so it's not a tourist trap thing.

β β β β β This is one of those many places, located in a small side street, that you would pass without noticing during the day when all tables have gone. In the evening it transforms into a lively alleyway where locals and tourists enjoy drinks and dinner.
We've passed here several times in the evening and the restaurant was always packed - a good sign, so we tried it on our last night in Catania.
The male-only staff is a bit rough but friendly, English not being their strong point. We were served promptly, ordered a Grillo white vine and the mixed antipasto. Like everything else it arrived relatively unceremoniously, not really decorated on a big plate. Having tried all of the about 7 or different specialties, we decided that this was the best starter we had during our two weeks in Sicily. And that for 7 Eur! The tastes were so different and unique that we could have just eat another plate and be done.
As main dishes we had the mixed roast fish and a tuna steak with caramelized onions. The mixed fish consisted of 3 different sorts and was ample, and perfectly cooked.
The tuna steak was delicious and the combination with the onions for me new experience
To summarize, a great place to have a tasty Sicilian meal.
