★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sono diverse le fontane presenti nei giardini tra cui: la Fontana di Venere (copia dell’opera realizzata nella piazza della SS.Annunziata di Firenze) fu voluta dalla moglie di Andrea Doria Pamphili, Lady Mary Talbot nel 1850, la Fontana del Giglio (una delle più belle e realizzata dall’Algardi) il cui nome deriva dallo stemma della famiglia, la Fontana delle Lumache creata dal Bernini, la Fontana del Cupido. Una delle zone più importanti è il Giardino del Teatro, costruito dall’architetto della famiglia Pamphili, Andrea Busiri Vici, che prese spunto dai giardini in stile inglese. Fu destinato a ospitare rappresentazioni teatrali e musicali all’aperto. Altri luoghi sono: il Giardino delle Serre, l’Arco dei Quattro Venti ed infine la Palazzina Corsini, attualmente una biblioteca e spazio espositivo. Da questo punto della villa si ha una vista spettacolare sulla Valle dei Daini.
There are several fountains in the gardens including: the Fountain of Venus (copy of the work created in the square of the SS Annunziata in Florence) was commissioned by the wife of Andrea Doria Pamphili, Lady Mary Talbot in 1850, the Fontana del Giglio (a of the most beautiful and created by Algardi) whose name derives from the family crest, the Fountain of Snails created by Bernini, the Fountain of the Cupid. One of the most important areas is the Garden of the Theater, built by the architect of the Pamphili family, Andrea Busiri Vici, who was inspired by the English-style gardens. It was intended to host theatrical and musical performances outdoors. Other places are: the Giardino delle Serre, the Arco dei Quattro Venti and finally the Palazzina Corsini, currently a library and exhibition space. From this point of the villa you have a spectacular view over the Valle dei Daini.
