★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I giardini pubblici di Ventimiglia da poco sono stati dedicati al Beato Monsignor Tommaso Reggio, già Vescovo della Città. Realizzati a cavallo fra la fine dell'ottocento e i primi del novecento grazie a una donazione del benefattore e mecenate inglese Sir Thomas Hanbury, hanno vissuto momenti di splendore in cui sona stati utilizzati come location per eventi e spettacoli. Ora, a causa del punteruolo rosso che ha costretto all'abbattimento di quasi tutte le sue grandiose palme e del contemporaneo abbattimento dei pini ammalatesi a causa dell'infiltrazione della salata del mare nella foce del fiume Roia che ne ha fatto marcire le radici, vivono in un profondo degrado e vanno prontamente ricostituiti.
The public gardens of Ventimiglia have recently been dedicated to the Blessed Monsignor Tommaso Reggio, former bishop of the city. Made at the turn of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries thanks to a donation from the English benefactor and patron Sir Thomas Hanbury, they experienced moments of splendor in which they were used as a location for events and shows.
