★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This insurance company uses bait and switch working with their client Hotel santa maria novella for possible internal theft of our luggage for over $6k. After going through all the steps of local police filing, long and exhaustive process for finding all receipts of old and new, they then informed me that they don't cover this theft in a 5 star hotel. Here is my latest email after 4 months of wait and all the detailed work. Please don't be ridiculous. We've well settled inside your lobby. And that's the only reason we didn't have the luggage in our sight and in our hand 100
% of the time with your lobby, your luggage people, your security cameras. In fact, the only reason our phones and computer would even be in the same bag was that you asked us to take passports from the lobby to the front desk for your registration.
Please owe up the responsibility and compensate for the loss from theft in your heavily surveillance-covered front lobby area. That's the least you could do given how much trouble and cost this theft has put my family, my young daughter, and myself through.
