The Galileo Galilei Museum in Florence is the National Museum of Science of Italy. It must be noted that it was refreshing after a hearty dose of art, to visit a museum that deals not with art but with science. What is here? Huge globes, ancient maps of the world, telescopes of all kinds and types, devices that deal with star research and navigation, an exhibition on the discovery of the pendulum, exhibitions that deal with chemistry, medicine, geography, mathematics and more. We spent three hours here having fun and if you or your children are curious this is definitely a good place to visit if you are already in Tuscany in general or Florence in particular.
