★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho scoperto da poco che il fuoco della fornace è alimentato dalla legna, seguendo le medesime procedure che si utilizzavano nel XV secolo. La zona di Rufoli è ricchissima di argilla, il materiale con cui è composto l'impasto delle mattonelle; ed è proprio il fuoco della legna che regala le sfumature dal giallo al rosso.
